As for CoD4 ... I seriously can't wait, there's been news of a new Slot2 Perk released called Overkill, which allows you to have two primaries. Ugh, can't wait for that!
some of the tf2 maps are pretty sweet. haven't seen a good 2fort4 yet though. i'm also fairly disappointed that i can't run tf2 in my 22" LCD's native 1600x1050 res. i don't think it's a video card issue since quake wars runs in it easily?

It depends, the Source engine is not as scaleable as the Doom3 engine ... what video card do you have, and when did you last update your drivers? Also, when you add me, I'll give you some good servers.
well this season is only 16 games i believe so we should start another one shortl after that for a longer season and less amount of teams maybe only 8 this time
i have a 7600GT, and steam made me update my drivers when installed the game. i'll add you when i get home. i may get a new video card around christmas or shortly after when the prices drop again.

A 7600 is a mid-range card. Your graphics should probably be set to medium at 1024x768 or so.
It should be able to do the resolution of his monitor with shadows off and a few other settings at low. I have an x1700 in my laptop and I can play @ 1440x900 w/ all settings at High and 8x AF w/ 4x MSAA. I average around 40fps, very playable. I see no reason why his 7600GT can't pull the 1600 resolution ...
it runs the highest resolution i see in the settings perfectly fine with no slowdowns. i have a 22" Viewsonic HD panel and would prefer to run it in the native res. i was just surprised it wasn't even an option - i run quake wars in that res just fine with some stuff turned down.
For anyone that's interested, picked up orange box last night, basically comes with 5 games on one disc for the 360. Mainly interested in playing Half Life 2 and then episodes 1&2, started last night and the game looks and plays fantastic.
Played the first Half Life on the PC and have been waiting for this package to come out, very impressive. Also playing Bioshock currently, that is a game you HAVE to pick up if you like FPS, amazing game from top to bottom.
Hmm, it appears you are correct. I need to be more up to date on my vid cards! There is a much larger difference between the 7600 and the GT than I was aware of.
Yeah, you can crank the res and graphics on that. Sports games for PC aren't nearly as far along in real-time lighting and shadowing as their FPS counterparts, so it won't make the card scream as some other games will. Maybe turn soft-shadows off, if the game even offers them.

Sorry for the double post, but for what it's worth, several gaming review sites/magazines have dubbed "The Orange Box" the best deal (for the $) in videogaming history. You get 5 games and they are all by themselves rated in the general vicinity of a 9.0+, except for Half Life 2 which is a much higher 9.6, one of the highest rated games of all time.
it's a nice little card, down to $90 on newegg and SLI compatible. Too bad my p5b-e doesn't have 2 pci-e slots!

GH3 demo is on XBL ... it's pretty damn fun, along with VF5 and NFS Pro Streets demos are also up.

For anyone planning on playing Skate and Tony Hawk Proving Ground. One word of advice, play Proving Ground first, because Skate ruined THPS for me. Tony Hawk needs to take a year off or something, because against Skate, it looks and plays like crap.
any good wii les coming out soon? i hope they do castlevania or mega man.
