Do you pay attention to anything besides points? Ginobili shot the ball very poorly but he did a lot of other things well. He rebounded great, he didn't have any turnovers in 28 minutes, and he was very effective feeding Timmy in the post so that he could make his move immediately and score. He had a good "team" game, even if his individual day doesn't look that great.

Once again picking up those 2 quick fouls in the first took him out of his offensive rhythm. That 2nd one was such a bs call. He got sandwiched between two suns on a screen and nash just flopped.
You'll have to excuse Tpark, anything outside of glowing praise for Pop or 30 points by a player is beyond him.

Duncan played well. Amare played okay. Nash played well.

    Parker played great.

I couldn't believe that after the 3rd or 4th jumper he made, they continued to run under the pick instead of playing over. Antoni is not very good at in game adjustments.

Tough loss for the Suns. Great win for the Spurs.

Game 2 on Tuesday will another doozy.

Too bad game 3 is next Sunday. I could watch these guys play every day.

    *EDIT*

6 minutes from Jones and 12 from Kurt.

It's high time the Jones experiment ends. Kurt played Duncan very tough (as did Amare) and his defense is sorely needed.

Almost every one of Tim's shots were contested and against pretty good defense.

That hook he hit towards the end was tremendous.

There's no way you run over picks against Parker. Ever.

Smart to live and die against Parkers jumper rather than let him loose against your bigs in the paint. You saw the result a few times when he took Marion to the hole.

The Suns have to hope that Parkers J is not going for the rest of the series. If he continues to shoot jumpers like he did today, it's over. Period.

Yep. They have to give him the jumper instead of letting him penetrate. The only other thing they can do is trap him.

I feel this will go seven and be one of the best series in recent memory.
I disagree. I don't see this series going more than 5 games. San Antonio seems to have D'Antoni's Suns confounded on the offensive end compared to the way they are able to execute against most other if not all other teams. It's about execution. If the Spurs defense continues to disallow Phoenix's high flying, circus act to get rolling the Suns don't have a chance.

Yeah that call was BS - along with the one on Bowen when Amare flopped, and one of the offensive fouls on Parker. But overall the officiating wasn't horrible.

I hope Manu gets into rhythm next game - I think this series should be huge from him and the Spurs really need him.

Is this guy for real, or is he a Spurs fan trying to make all the Mav fans look like the crybabies they are?
He does this after EVERY Spurs win...charming, no?

Sorry but Manu didn't have a good game to me. You expect more from Manu than just feeding Tim. He didn't have his usual aggressiveness on defense too.

He wasn't there when offense was struggling and when he tried, he missed several layups. Spurs were lucky that TP was hot during those streches.

He also missed criticals FT's that could have cost more than they did.

He can, have to make more then that.

The analyst on NBA TV was going on and on about how the Suns got shafted by the officiating. He sounded like George Karl.

Another BIG win for the Spurs. I don't see this game lasting until 6 games. It may end up being just like 2005.

I think it will. They've improved a bit since the 2005 series. Not enough to win it... but they're good enough to take it to 6.

However, if they don't find a way to win Tuesday... this very well could be a repeat of 2005.

    And they died today.

Didn't he open the game going 8/8 from the field?

A change in defense was needed. If going over wouldn't work cause of his lane penetration, having the big guy pop out might've disrupted even for a moment.

Parker is a Suns killer. This matchup is great for him.

If it weren't for those free throws the Suns had in the 3rd, this could've been a blowout.
