    TD is out for tonight.

ESPN 1250 Radio just announced it.

He is listed day-to-day with a right quad tendon issue. It's not tendonitis....but something to do with the tendon.

MOTHER F........ That is not good. These next few games that we have are not easy ones either. Oh well, as long as he is healthy come playoff time I am alright.

With Duncan down I'm hoping to see Pops get some decent minute.

How serious is that injury, for those who have experience with that.

And does anyone have anything good to say about Mensas D. Does he ever show flashes of greatness in that regard. Blocks are nice, but not boxing out negates that, I hope he isn't as bad at that fundamental as some have stated.

Travis Outlaw often plays PF for the Blazers. I hope Pop will give Pops a try against him.

Draftexpress measured him in 2006 as 6' 7.5" in bare feet and 6'9" in sneakers. It's not impossible that he could've grown a bit more since then, but more likely it's that added inch or so that almost all NBA players get when their teams list their supposed heights.

    Spurs add Pops

The Spurs have filled their 15th roster slot with a 25-year-old Englishman named Pops.

Pops Mensah-Bonsu, the talk of the NBA Developmental League, signed a 10-day contract with the Spurs on Wednesday. Mensah-Bonsu, a 6-foot-10 forward, averaged 26.6 points, 13 rebounds and 2.4 assists in eight games with the Austin Toros.

On Feb. 22, he turned in a 39-point, 18-rebound game against Colorado.

Mensah-Bonsu played collegiately at George Washington University, but went unselected in the 2006 draft. He appeared in 12 games with Dallas that season before landing in the D-League.

The signing of Mensa-Bonsu takes the Spurs out of consideration for other free-agent buyout candidates. He should provide needed depth on the front line for the Spurs, especially with Tim Duncan battling a sore knee.
Quick question: why would this take us out of consideration for another possible buyout? I know that we now have 15 on our roster, but if Joe Smith were to get cut loose why would we not be able to cut another player (Vaughn, Hairston, or even Mensa-Bonsu) to make room for him?

In order for the player like a Joe Smith or Rasho to be bought out...it will have to happen by tomorrow.

Sunday March 1st is deadline to sign guys off of waivers and I believe there is 24-48 hrs waiting period once the player is placed on waivers.

I know Timvp or Kori or someone else could correct me on that!

That's still possible. The Spurs can open up a roster spot if they really wanted to. Unless they give Bonsu another 10 day contract one opens up automatically 10 days from now.

No, actually it's smart. There's no reason to give him anything until he proves something.

you have to be signed by this weekend to be eligible for the playoff roster.

that is why the Knicks and Marbury are in a hurry to make something happen right now too, so he can sign somewhere else for the playoffs.

Don't know if this has been posted but...

The Spurs also announced that Fabricio Oberto suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left thumb during the win over the Mavericks but is still expected to play Wednesday.
Has anyone mentioned if Pops will suit up tonight and play?

I see no reason for his not suiting up.

Duncan, Manu and Ian will be inactive.

Not quite. Players just need to be cut by this weekend, but they don't have to be signed by then. The rule is that you can't be on one team's roster on March 1st and then be eligible to play in the playoffs for a different team. Marbury could have waited until the last day of the regular season to sign with Boston and the Celtics would still have been allowed to use him.
