Is that kinda like how you said "I am afraid of the Phoenix Suns" ?
Ok.
"There is nothing any team has over the Spurs. Spurs have no weaknesses".

All I am doing is pointing out some potential problem areas. Things that I see that could cause the series to be very tough if they continue. Do you see any problem areas Zosa?
Despite my post above ...I actually think a WCF Lakers and spurs would be epic.
More times than not it has not been so (close) in fact, since Duncn was drafted there has been only one maybe two close series between the two ...with the winning team dominating the matchup There have been no classic 7 game duel with both teams peaking or healthy at the same time. We are ovedue for one.
Here are some highlights of the past few matchups
- Spurs shutdown the Forum
- Lakers prevented a spurs repeat in 2000, 2004
- Derek fisher going crazy from 3
- Kobe with the offensive board and put buck to put the nail in the coffin
- 4-1 in 2008
- Horry defecting to Spurs
- .04
- Spurs stealing George hill late in 1st round ... Lakers were planning to draft him top of the 2nd round ....
Great moments but what is missing is a real great NBA Classic/greatest matchups type series between the two. in fact the only game they show is the .04 game ....
I think a matchup bewteen the two could bring us an all-time classic.
Lakers &
Duncan vs. Pau
Bynum vs. Dice
RJ vs. Ron
Kobe vs. hill
Parker vs. fish
Manu vs. LO
Pop vs. Phil
now THAT is a series!!!
Yes, I know Utah/Denver or suns have something to say about it ...but Everyone wanted this matchup in the pre-season i pray we get it ....

I agree with your points concerning the Suns, but I don't think the Spurs and Mavs were such a terrible matchup. A tough matchup, yes, not a terrible matchup. But since you meant tough apparently ...
Why are you getting hung up on semantics and trying so hard to dissect that?
Tough and terrible are two very different words..
So were the Mavs a terrible match up last year?
No Manu, no McDyess, too little Hill too late, with Bonner and Mason forced into major roles? You can't even compare this season's matchup with last season's, but yes, last season the Mavs were much closer to "terrible."
Before this series, the Spurs had vastly underachieved. The Mavs made the big trade and were playing very well after the all star break.
Dice came out of no where to play very well. Obviously, hind sight is 20-20, but going into the series, there was a reason why Dallas was the favorite. Out of all the teams to draw in the first round, the Mavs were the worst imo outside of LA.
If the Spurs make it out of the west I'd love to see a Spurs/Celtics finals. Although its obviously a long shot, that would be a great series to watch.
Dallas was not the favorite to everyone. I had Spurs in 7.
Spurs were going into the playoffs as the 2nd hottest team in the league and the team that "noone wanted to face in the 1st round"
Yup, Spurs were eliminated in the first round by the Suns after Duncan missed all of the playoff due to a knee injury. Maybe Killakobe81 meant 2004 and 2008(though this one seems to be a stretch - I don't think anyone was beating Boston that year).
lakers still need to beat the thunder who says they'll even be in the WCF
Going by that theory ... Lakers are yet to beat hte suns in the PO. Point is when the spurs were awesome in 05,06,07 lakers were sucking. Not our fault. End of the day, lakers & Spurs have combined for 8 championships since 1999. lets see what happens this year.
And got blown out by the Suns...![]()

We NEVER get to see these two ans slug it out at full strength. It's b.s.
Utopia is never achieved.
You're just qualifying the result in case you lose. That's weak.
bump!!!
