I couldn't get into Menace II Society. Great soundtrack, but that movie always struck me as how white people would do a minstrel show hood movie with so many 1D caricatures. I liked Boyz N the Hood so much more where Dough felt like a real person, like that one kid you knew back in school who was a -up because his mom loved the son from another father more.

and my main takeaway from the movie was how ing amazing christoph waltz was, and how much his career had previously been wasted doing virtually nothing but austrian tv shows. and then he was great again in django a few years later
