If it was a straight up trade, then I guess it was worth it to get rid of RJ.

Now we have a talented black hole with the ego that says he wants to be #1.

I don't envy Pop and the coaching staff in trying to keep him in line. The big 3 will help but he's gonna have to accept the fact that he won't be the main man here.
The Spurs can handle SJax. Even at the very worst, if SJax won't play without an extension or is legitimately injury, this trade is addition by subtraction.

Is Jackson injured, or is it possible he'll play tomorrow vs. Thunder?

From a toughness and defense perspective, it's a great move..Jax is mentally tough, and he's long and intelligent on the defensive end..

From an overall basketball standpoint, it's a lateral move, possibly even a downgrade..Jax has been one of the worst offensive players in the NBA, the past few seasons..he can't shoot anymore, he's no longer productive..

The hope is that Jackson was being restricted by lack of motivation, playing for ty teams..if that's the case, it'll be an upgrade..if not, it's a lateral move..

Fortunately, the playoffs won't affect him mentally, like Jefferson..as bad as Jackson has been, it's still worth the risk, as losing RJ doesn't affect the Spurs, either way, he's usually a negative..

My expectations are low, even though he's one of my favorites..

    Yeah!

I'm so happy for this!. A great day in Spurs land! Nobody saw this coming!

Personally, I never wanted Jax to leave in the first place.

So long, . He was a consummate professional off the court, but he sucked ass and lacked passion on the court.

Spurs don't have to use their amnesty exemption either.

    Great freaking news!

This definitely makes up for how lackluster the offseason was.

Do you think the Spurs will still push hard for Diaw?

His ego is terrible...but he wants to win, he will tone it down on the Spurs.

Get him healthy and improve our chances this year.

At least he can hit big shots in the playoffs, unlike Bonner
Yeah but Bonner's still on the team.

Easily worth the 27th pick for this trade to go down...not even a second thought by RC
