Yes, really. You are quite gullible if you couldn't tell that cantthinkofanything wasn't serious.
Alot of "I want to believe" people here then I thought.

Seriously? You don't have to fully believe a story to entertain an idea. If it'll help you out, I don't believe in ghosts at all.

I can't believe I'm having to explain this as well but I didn't buy the first photo (like I said earlier the story and the picture were vaguely familiar to me even if I can't place it) and I was initially responding more to the commentary on the board than anything else. That's primarily because I know those things are actually really sticky.

The .jpg on the second photo had something in on "fake ghost" by the quote. I decided to go with the text because that was the more interesting angle and the setting is similar to a concept I was already dabbling with. And while there was good reason to think he was joking around, in the off chance that cantthinkofanything was recounting something that had happened to him with the second one there was nothing to be gained by being antagonistic. Otherwise I would've just made a mental note on him and moved on since I'm not as familiar with him as you are and I try to engage people before categorizing them.

While I do have my personal thoughts on ghosts and walking spirits, I'm not going to argue with the experiences of other people. Especially if I wasn't there to prove or disprove it either way. By asking questions, getting more information, and listening rather than refuting, there's always a chance of solving the puzzle or learning something new. It's great mental exercise and besides, I'm more inclined to think that a few of the posters in this thread are being genuine.

Idk. Maybe it's different for you and Blake but wearing my doubts on my sleeve has just never been a productive means of communicating with people for me. I am constantly evaluating and asking questions but I don't feel the need to beat my conversation partners over the head with that when there's gentler ways of getting the information I want and eventually making my point if it comes to that. But even then I won't claim to know everything with a topic like this one so there's nothing accomplished by arguing.

Not to mention that it's often easier to get people to agree with you if you're not going out of your way to treat them all like idiots... That's a skill worth having imo.

Being able to get a point across in a few sentences is also a skill worth having.

And extend the conversation/let people take things out of context? This way I only have to explain my thought process once.

So why don't you think ghosts exist?

Nah. Had 1 owner before us, built in 91. I live out in a suburb of Dallas next to a wooded area. Less than a mile away is an old cemetery. Went to check it out with my daughter during the day once and most of the graves are marked in the 1800's and early 1900's. BUt other than that, nothing too unusual
I too was wondering about the history of the home. Is your daughter experiencing anything?

You don't need to type several paragraphs to get your point across.

I don't believe in ghosts because there's been zero evidence of their existence, despite all of the stories. Simple enough.

She hears the same things we do. The only time she has ever seen anything was about 5 years ago. I was in one of our guest bedrooms that we used as our home office paying bills one night after dinner. Should also note, this is the part of the house where we have seen someone walk across the hallway and where the dowsing rods I was using one time went completely nuts. Anyway, I'm on the computer taking care of business. I can hear the water running in the kitchen where Mrs. SpurinDallas was washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. I can also hear my daughter going in and out of her bedroom, which is across from the home office I was sitting in. I hear her come out of her room, go back in her room, and then come into the office and she asks, "where did mommy go?" This whole time I've been on the computer I can hear running water and the clink and clank of dishes being washed. I tell her that mommy has been washing dishes. She then asks, "are you sure?" and I say "Yes, why?". My daughter then says, "Then who was that lady standing behind you?"

She says as she was going in and out of her room, she saw a lady standing behind me while I was on the computer and she thought it was her mother. That freaked me out for a looooong time, and she was about 7 at the time this happened. She still tells the story to this day to her friends. Freaky stuff.

My point was that I did/do process a lot more information than I tend to let on. The length was a visual means of partially illustrating that while covering my bases. Noted though.

This lady who was behind you resembled your wife huh? Just out of curiosity, did you get a good look at the other walking person you saw in that earlier post?

And also, does she ever stand behind you when you're on the computer like that?

The person I saw walk across the hall looked like a man, and he was much taller. My wife is only 5' tall.

The only time she would ever come in with me when paying the bills was when I called her in the room to look at something. We also have a laptop, so there was never any reason for her to come stand over my shoulder while on the computer.

And I pay the bills anyway, and she has no idea what is due, how much is due and when its due. She'd be screwed if I died in a car accident on the way home from work one day.

Strange. How tall was the man in your estimation?

That's still an interesting detail. A kid normally wouldn't mess something like that up.

I don't know. But he seemed close to 6'. I'm 6'1", so if it looked tall to me, it had to be close to 6'

Well seeing as how everyone here is telling their own ghosts tales i'll tell mine. Back in the day I lived with my great grandma in San Antonio and my mom and dad were having a long distance realtionship my mom in SA and my dad in LA. Me and my mom finally made the big move to CA when I was 9 after my grandma died not the one I was living with but my mom's mom. I still remeber to this day what I saw and who I saw the day were leaving my great grandmas house putting our luggage in my grandpas car who was going to take us to the airport. There was a window in a door right outside in the front were we were leaving, you could see the laundry room through the window and well after we had put up all our luggage in the trunk of my grandpas car I dont know excatley why but for some reason I looked at the window and saw my grandma in her red dress she would always wear waving bye to me I wasn't scared more confused than anything. Anway there you have it one of the few odd things that have occured in my life so far.

No and no. I've never really tried to provoke it or ask it questions. It also walked passed the doorway so fast that I couldn't make out any detail. But this was the only time I actually saw it live and in color.

About 2 months ago, I saw a light figure kinda shine across the wall, like it was walking really fast. When I turned to my wife to tell her what I saw, she pointed really quickly and saw the same thing. This was at night with all the lights off. We had the bedroom door open and it opens to the living room and we could see across the house into the kitchen, and that's where we saw the lighted figure. I saw it twice and she saw it once. Weird

I've always wanted to stay at the Crockett Hotel in San Antonio in early March. People say there is a lot of ghostly activity around that time, and it's even better if you have a room facing the Alamo, because you can see activity taking place on the Alamo grounds.

So why haven't you packed up exactly? That's just plain creepy. What does your priest have to say about this?

Then for the most part they act like they live there then. Right?

We never brought it up to him because it doesn't seem evil or even a problem tbh. He blessed the house the first weekend after we bought it so I have faith (GASP! Yes, I said FAITH) that anything that may be in the house is not evil natured. Don't get me wrong though, I have heard a man clear his throat in the middle of the night and we heard a kids voice one morning, all of us did, and that freaks me out to where I won't even get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

And I have concluded for years with your last statement. It seems as though whatever is in the house just acts like they live there.
