He fell twice. Once at the end of the first quarter after his tip-in of Ginobili's miss. The second time was in the 2nd quarter after trapping Hayward in the corner. He put both hands out both times but he never once showed any sign of pain. Tiago never grimaced nor did he ever grab the wrist.

Yeah he also didnt leave the bench during the 2nd IIRC. When he didnt come out for the third quarter I shot messages to the bloggers at the game and McDonald asking hey WTF wheres Tiago. They all seem to finally snap to it.

I suppose. There's a chance an asteroid hits the earth tomorrow, too. RT @texastoutah512 is there a chance Tiago is gone for the playoffs?
Haha is this for real? It's a total disgrace that this person gets paid to write about the Spurs.

To me, it looks like Splitter got hurt on that his second missed layup (not the wide open missed layup, the one in traffic). He got hit on the hand and grimaces on his way back up the court. But he stayed in a while after that play.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Let's hope it's minor. Even though the Spurs have been undefeated without Splitter this year in games he's missed and games he has left early (like the tummy ache game) outside of that Portland forfeit, now's not the time to figure out whether or not that's a fluke.

I don't understand what's wrong with what he said. It's just his edgy way of saying that as far as he knows, Splitter's injury isn't serious at all and he'll probably be back in no time.

They'll tape him up and he'll play if we need him. If not, he'll sit for a bit and rest his wrist up. Popovich will play him if we need to match up with bodies... I figure If he played Ginobili last year with a fractured elbow, he'll play Tiago with a sprained wrist if necessary.

As long as it wasn't his shooting hand that was injured he'll be fine. He doesn't need his wrist to move his feet on defense or to put his arms up to alter shots.

A sprained wrist isn't a big concern. It would have been much worse if it was a sprained ankle...

Splitter should sit and heal that wrist up for a game or 2 and also as long as Jackson can play some PF against Millsap/Favors and hold his own. He'll be much more important to have healthy in the 2nd round and beyond.

I'm not that concerned about it tbh. Should be a 1 week recovery time. And Pop already remedied the Blair problem by swapping him with Diaw and it doesn't seem to have phased Blair, in fact if anything it just motivated him to play harder.

This also shows/proves two things that I've been babbling about all year long:

    1. Blair & Bonner can coexist together in the 2nd unit in limited stretches. Especially now that Manu is back to running that unit and I'm sure it doesn't hurt having Jack and his size out there too. I have to say it's very satisfying seeing the vision I had early in the season bear some fruit.

    2. Blair is in fact better off the bench. We suffered with him as a starter for how long? All because of this false notion everybody seemed to have that he had to be pampered and given special treatement. IE given the starting job. What a crock of bull that was.

I don't see Splitter missing more than 1 game tbh. I hope the MRI turns to be in our favor.

From someone who has had a sprained wrist, it takes about a week for the swelling to completely go away. After 3-4 days, I could play BB, but with a brace. In a week, the lingering pain completely subsided, but there was still discomfort when alot pressure was applied to my wrist. It took about two weeks for it to fully heal.

So, with that saying, Splitter should be close to 100% by round 2 of the playoffs, when the Spurs will need him most. He will be wearing a brace obviously, and its on his off hand. So I don't see any tremendous drop in his game occurring from this injury.
No offense, but there are different degrees of sprains and no two bodies react exactly the same to the injury - so there's no cookie cutter prognosis that can be inserted based solely on the term "sprain."

My guess is he'll be out for Game 2 but back by Game 3 just because I think Pop will be overly cautious.

I never heard the spurs say 2-10 weeks, I saw that a guy in this thread saw on the internet that the average heal time for this injury is 2-10 weeks, but that did not come from the spurs.

We need him - if not for MEM/LAL - just for lessening the wear and tear on Duncan. Did you see Duncan have to get up off the bench because that abomination combo of Bonner and Blair (mostly Blair) was losing the lead?
