Lebron's game was good for the Heat. He's going to be even more confident going into next year, but if the USA doesn't win gold, wow.

It would be a pretty massive upset if USA doesn't win - but teams with good bigs (Spain, Brazil) have the best chance (but even they could get blown out).
Olympic shooters and archers shoot nothing but their compe ion stuff. They don't take a gawdy balanced compound bow out into the woods, and those who hunt with a bow or with a rifle aren't gold medal level shooters. It wouldn't be interesting for them. I would suspect that a top tier archer would prefer fishing over shooting a bow on his days off.
LOL reading a couple of articles online and they're already ting their pants saying this team is exposed and weak.![]()
As every other contender for Olympic Gold, Spain is very vulnerable. If the standings stay the same, they will play a dangerous team in France. If they manage to get by, Russia (the team that just beat them) or Lithuania will be waiting for them. As Nono alluded earlier, Navarro's injury is not good. If Spain shoots poorly from three, they can be beaten with the right matchup.
That's expected...its the media. But the reality is the USA almost beat themselves today. It's more about what Team USA didn't do than what Lithuania did.
Definitely - but with regards to teams who have the best shot at betting USA, teams with solid frontlines are highest on the list of concerns. Having said that, all these teams are beatable.
Teams with big frontlines will obviously present unfavorable matchups.
IMO, I'm more worried about teams that are disciplined and don't turn the ball over. Teams like Argentina, Brazil, Lithuania, and Russia come to mind (in that order). While Spain does have the ability to run a set offense, they are sorely missing Rubio and Navarro (the uninjured version). To beat Team USA, a team must do the following (in order):
1. not turn the ball over
2. run a very disciplined offense
3. shoot well from 3
4. rebound the ball
In addition to the above, a team must also pray they get Team USA on a bad day (like today).
russ got some easy wins in group stage but still not convincing imho, US is guaranteed to win gold while arg & spain are locked for the #2 and #3 places. if russia got a male version of becky hammon then yup they might have a chance at the medals
Nothing about Russia's wins were easy. Did you watch the games?
