It's the preseason, not Game 7 of a playoff series.
Not gonna be playing many Game 7s with this brand of defense, tbh

People expecting an elite defense this season will be really disappointed. It's not a matter of effort or Pop's new plan. Most of our players simply suck at it.

SA doesn't have the personal for that, simple as that. It was all about prime Duncan carrying the load as the main piece of an elite defense in the past. Now that Duncan is old with a crap knee, he can't do it alone anymore. SA will have an average defense once again and you guys have to get used to it.

SA will once again will games with offense, not defense.

Exactly. Tbh, I don't expect another (let's be honest, the only reason we want Timmy to ring again is to shut up the Kobe stans) but as long as the Spurs remain elite until Duncan retires and they remain a team to root for, I'll be okay with it.

F*** it made a long time I DNP in a game, a DNP-CD was even a more long time ago... Now, there is only 1 thing to do, keep working hard!!!

I like the passion, but De Colo clearly still doesn't understand Pop's mood swings. De Colo has probably gotten more playing time than any of the prospect PGs so far this preseason. Pop won't like him ing about minutes even if his heart is in the right place.

Hopefully Parker has a talk while they are lying in their bunk beds tonight.

You're the only clown, so stop referring to everyone else as clowns.

Brent Barry, I really feel bad about. He got a raw deal with Pop. He got benched time and time again for defensive mistakes and now Pop has guys like Gary Neal running around that can't ing guard a lamp post and he doesn't get on them about it like he did with guys like Brent. Brent Barry is such a better overall player then Gary Neal, yet he was totally hammered by Pop for nearly every defensive mistake he made.

I like Gary's toughness on offense and that he is willing to take the big shots, but he's gotta play defense. He can't play such piss poor defense and expect to get any court time with those horrendous efforts out there.

Yeah but he was staying with small guards, something he hasn't been able to do so far, seriously those final minutes he was a completely different player. I didn't even care about the jumpers going in, he at least took them when he was open; wasn't timid. His feet weren't stuck in molasses. Anything on offense you get from Brown should be a bonus as long as his defense is good; but he was subpar in that department as well.

Might not mean anything but could Brown somehow showcasing his skill sets in practice but "hiding" them in games?
Something is going on with Brown. He has looked awful in most of the preseason games, but then out of nowhere Pop mentioned him yesterday along with Eddy Curry as the two guys that can make the team.

Do you think he had an injury, or that he is holding back? Are the Spurs telling him to hold back so another team doesn't pick him up? Do you think they are trying to clear up a roster spot for him and Curry? From what Pop said yesterday about Brown, it sounded like Brown has impressed him, especially with Pop saying sometimes it takes a while for the light to go on for some players. It sounds like Pop is impressed with him, or was he just trying to boost him up so another team can pick him up?

Well, he wasn't really " ing". He precised it in following tweets where he said that it shouldn't be taken like that. He was just noticing that for the first time in a long time he received a DNP-CD and that he now needs to work on his game.

Saying that, unlike what he shows in interviews, De Colo is a player with some at ude and a lot of ambitions. If he feels that he doesn't get the playing time he deserved, he will complain about it. In Europe, he has still criticized some of his coaches choices in Spain and with the national team. Coaching an ambitious player has some drawbacks but some edges too and I trust Pop for being able to take the best of it.

I like a player who actually cares if he plays or not and wants to improve.

No kidding I don't want a guy to say "Ughh Ok" let me go sit down and collect my million dollar check. As far as our defense we have not shot blocker on this team until we get one our defense is going to be lacking. Also, most of our guys are small for the position they play at come on we use SJ at PF..WTF..
