Exactly. I think the Mexicans in this thread wrongly assume that we're all just being racist against "brown people." Jews were the most hated people on earth for precisely similar reasons. They were similarly accused of refusing to assimilate, being isolationist, loving Israel above everything else, and were typically resented by the native population (whether it was in Egypt, Germany, or early Jews in the United States).

Nothing wrong with that. Italians, even those Jersey Shore guido types who've never been to Italy, have a similar love for their heritage. But at the end of the day, they're American. The modern Mexican immigrant just seems to have a different at ude. I admit it's somewhat of a qualitative observation, and obviously I don't profess to know what they're thinking, but when they prefer to fly the Mexican flag over the American flag and appear unwilling to learn English, I can't help but call into question their loyalty to their adopted country.

I don't care if they call it racism, even as liberal as I am, I'd willingly admit I don't want a Hispanic majority in this country. Every other country in the world with a hispanic majority is in a 3rd world state and has even less of a middle class than what's left in America. If Latin-American countries like Mexico are any indication of what America would become with a Hispanic majority, it seems perfectly reasonable to push against it.

The horrible state of all countries that have a Hispanic majority is a simple reality no one should ignore.

DoK will be the first to tell you that Jews faced discrimination for thousands of years because they were perceived as invaders who refused to assimilate to the native culture. He was referring to Jews in the US, and the pre-Holocaust Jews did face some resentment in the US.
