Truth bomb
Yep.
Stay away from just one view. See what they all agree on, and what they disagree on. Parse and think about the facts presented and ignore the journalists opinion. In reviewing more than one source, you will find relevant facts omitted by others.
Truth bomb
The 2nd paragraph is totally off subject. Even though I agree with the main point, or at least question the strategy.
I asked you WHERE you get your information. I can decide for myself if it is reasonable.
I don't need more corporate/press conspiracy theories. I need to know where you get your information.

So with above in mind (yes I realize the criteria in this rating system is not bullet proof) where do people go to get information off the Internet realizing that there are thousands of sources, some of which have very clear agendas?
One might think Finland (ranked #1), yet Finland does not have people on the ground and sources to compare with for example the BBC, The Guardian, The NY Times. Just because a country allows for more press freedom does not automatically imply that their press will not have an ideological bend. I think readers in the UK and US would classify the aforementioned news organizations as more liberal.
So I make a plea for sharing and reason and this is what I get...
I dont have the time or the energy to follow all stories closely and I havent been doing so with this one (and I dont live in the US so I see some international media you probably arent familiar with).

And from a relatively sane poster as far as I can tell.
I can only conclude that putting up sources will cause ridicule by posters who most likely have sources that have a clear ideology and, in the case of Che, SA10, etc... are most likely written by fruitbats.

pgardn, part of my point was that its not very useful to just list sources. Cir stances dictate for each story what sources are "best". Even the best paper can make mistakes, whether it be factual inaccuracy or editorial stupidity. The only paper I consider "above" the rest is the guardian and like I said I dont trust anything and everything they publish.
Many many times even when you do follow a story closely and read every paper, you are still left with doubts as to what "really" happened. In this case i think that is the most likely outcome and that is part of the reason I havent followed closely. The other is that I live thousands of miles away from both syria and the US and it barely affects me. If I were from the US or lived in the US I would be out protesting, for sure (as I did in the aftermath of 9/11, against the patriot act and attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq).
