Will anyone take a ban bet that Saban will not be the next coach? Looking at you, MJ
If you so sure, make it money.

Of course Aggies are scared, but Texas fans should be skeptical. There is a chance, given Saban's track record, that he may leave for Austin. Sure, he's still in the middle of a legendary reign at Alabama... but there seems to be a lot of gossip surrounding his relationships in Alabama off the field.

On another note, I find this ending somewhat sad. Mack Brown gave everything to Texas and loved this school, he deserved better than this. I blame the t-shirt fans that see UT as only a football team. Mack Brown is a genuinely nice man and his players absolutely love him. He always showed a deep sense of school pride and spirit, not just when the cameras were on him. I hope the best for him.
Up until this week I would have agreed with you. The two things he did that just make no sense to me was have Case McCoy as the only legit backup and then have his attorney trash him after the Baylor game. I wanted him gone but would not have been too upset if he had stayed due to his winning a national championship and two additional BCS bowl games. Not a lot of coaches can say that. However, his actions this week makes me think he needs to leave as quickly and quietly as possible.

this . Mack's been a mediocre coach his entire career. He gave UT everything? Bull . What the does that even mean? We gave him everything. He's been paid a fortune to underachieve. Two conference championships in 16 years. Let that sink in. Two. 5.4 million dollars for 2 Conference Championships. That's ing sad. The fat fell asleep on the job, admitted it and got a raise. He failed in player development. He failed in player recruitment. He failed against his biggest rival. He failed in the way he allowed his program to become complacent. In the way he kept ty assistants because the were friends. In the way he allowed fat s to run departments. They've been living off Vince Young for years. Colt was a badass band-aid. I don't think Colt will ever get the credit he deserves for masking the Herp that invested our football program. Thank God for that young man. He got paid to show school pride. He got paid to be "nice". And when he failed he acts like a and wants to keep sucking on the teet. Mack Brown. him in his enormous, buttertoothed ass.

I'm saying if you are so confident that Saban will not coach at Texas, then why not make it a money bet? It should be easy money for you if you are THAT confident.

And I don't trust you to pay, so I'm taking all the risk here. A ban bet is straightforward.

Damn, UT fans are some ungrateful bas s tbh. What coach doesnt win with talent? Yall s throw Vince or Colt out there to discredit Mack as if Saban or any other good coach doesnt have huge amounts of talent at their disposal.

I mean he made a load of money. Probably more than anyone should make when their primary job is coaching a college football team but still the turned UT into a monster and not just in football. He doesnt deserve to go out with fans dismissing the success hes had in his time there.

He was paid to coach at a high level and failed to do so. It is really that simple. I am a graduate of UT and I am not sure what that has to do with anything. That's great that he is a nice guy, has school spirit, players love him, etc. But the man isn't paid to be a nice babysitter or a great cheerleader. That 5 million plus is to win and to win big.

How many fans who attend UTSA football games are "t-shirt fans"? I have been to many games and never set foot on a utsa campus but yet support them. Without t-shirt fan, UTSA football probably would not exist..

I usually don't post the rumor bull , but this one cracks me up because it's so believable. To all you s who smell Mack's farts, this shows you what a whiny, en led, little he is.e

From McPhaul over at Hornsports: 12:01pm

Here is what I'm being told.

As I said, Mack is asking for a lot of $ to exit. More than has been contractually agreed upon. Mack has us between a rock and a hard place because he knows he will not be fired. On the Texas side, we just want this thing done but, it is going to cost us.

The releasing of Macks resignation by ESPN has assisted us by making it national news. This prevents Mack Brown from drawing the timeline out any further. Now Mack has to start telling people about his plans to retire, could the releasing of this news by ESPN be premeditated by the Power Brokers to put an end to Mack drawing this out further than Thursday? I would not doubt it.

As I said earlier, as early as Wednesday, no later than Thursday. It is now looking like Thursday.

The other side of this exit contract is the new position Mack is going to transition to. As we have heard from our good friends at Inside Texas, Mack is looking for a similar position that DKR held as assistant to the President. Mack will bring in 1 mill a year in this position.

Here is the PROBLEM. One of the Main stipulations the Saban camp had concerning accepting the HC job at Texas, was Mack cannot be in a position to meddle. As you can see, Mack is positioning himself to do just that. The Saban camp does want that cloud of a tattle tail Mack Brown in the President's ear while they are trying to resurrect the program. The Saban camp is acutely aware that Nick runs a program far different program than Mack does.

I hope this does not end up costing us Saban?

He played a part in making that 5 mill salary possible by helping build the UT athletic department into a monster.

And he failed in what sense? His run at UT was a lot more good than bad. Nothing wrong with thinking its time for a change but yall are going overboard with this tbh. Calling Mack's tenure a failure and kicking him in the ass on the way out the door seems pretty ungrateful imo.

Dont get me wrong t-shirt fans have their place in college football. They help make it as big as it is but Im just saying an alumnus is more likely to look at more than just wins and losses. UT isnt just a football team and Mack represented the university in a very positive way tbh.

This. I place a higher value on what my university stands for, I don't want to win shamelessly with thugs/criminals. You can't control who joins your fanbase, but you can control who represents your school and Mack Brown represented well (nitpick all you want, nobody is perfect and not everything you hear is true). 2 conference les in 16 years may seem low, but what coach in the Big 12 has obviously performed better? Stoops? Compare their bowl history. Mack Brown has a put together an impressive collection of wins.

for some perspective on just how complacent he really got, since meeting Bama in the 09 le game, Bama has lost five games. Texas has lost 21.

I've never been very impressed with stoops either. saban would rape his face every year in the red river game if he were there.
