It exist because other mainstream channels, especially MTV, wouldn't play black artists. Just like how HBCU's exist because other schools wouldn't admit black students. With that said, I wouldn't mind a name change for the very double standard that you raise.

Not true, do some research. Even when MTV started to play black artists, it was only Michael Jackson, a transcendent superstar. Obviously things have changed in a big way but as for why BET was created, there you go. Is it outdated? Possibly but it exist today for a reason.
And yes, PC society sucks.

BET is owned by Viacom. Hasn't been "black" entertainment in well over a decade.

IMO my fellow hispanics , highly americanised, dont realize or deny they are Mexicans and as US citizens, predictably do not give 1 about anything outside of USA. I dont give a about what happens in those muslim countries, let them do their thing as they believe in their country.
