Anyone see the pics from the Spurs charity dinner recently? Boban is holding two wine bottles. Looks like water bottles in his hands.

Simmons has way too much potential to get cut. Bonner, on the other hand, strained a calf muscle shooting a 3 pointer. My guess is Bonner. The only other choice would be Butler and cutting him would send a terrible message to other vets out there. He's earned a spot on this team and contributed when called upon. He has more versatility on defense and offense.
Yes but unfortunately, Butler isn't 6'10 and just doesn't have such an incredibly strong bond with PATFO that extends beyond basketball.

If we waive Bonner, we will have 5 bigs, 7 wings, and 3 PG's, whereas if we wave Butler, we will have 6 bigs, 6 wings, and 3 PG's. That's just a fact.
Butler can be used as a small ball 4 tbh

Bonner might decide to retire early to keep the decision out of Pop's hands (or so it would be spun).

Tbh Kevin Martin is a solid 12th man. Can come in hits some shots when the team needs a punch.

lol, Bonner has said earlier this season that he wants to play more years. No way that he will retire IMO.

I thought Bonner was really solid in the 2013 playoffs. Diaw missed the first round series with LA and Bonner did a pretty good job against the Gasol + Howard frontline.
Bonner's best performance was actually against the Grizz & Z-Bo in 2013. (The Lakers were a mess & Baynes performance against Dwert was more impressive)

Things have been great free agency-wise for small market teams once Stern left the NBA.

Sucks that we have to cheer for Kevin Martin, tbh..he's the original Harden(along with Corey Maggette) of the previous era..players that play to draw cheap, soft fouls, rather than trying to score..I can't remember the last time the Spurs signed a player that I strongly disliked..

I would'nt be shocked if Pop drops the ax on Simmons, tbh..
I thought about this too. Maybe give him the Danny Green speech and tell him to keep working on his game and they will bring him back next season.
Danny Green sucked ass his first trip here. No one was going to pick him up. He shot 37% on a bit over 2 long balls per game. Simmons is shooting 43% from long, granted on fewer attempts, but he can actually handle the ing ball and finish at the cup.

Too many people have seen Simmons play. He wouldn't even clear waivers. Some one would pick him up, and his contract is also for next year, so we couldn't get him back.
