It is amazing how Steve Clifford impressive coaching job has gone under the radar this season..as Apa said in the other thread, mainstream media has fallen in love with Brad Stevens to point of him getting overrated...Clifford successfully reconfigured their entire offense/style over summer while integrating new other pieces ..if not for Batum//Big Al injuries they would have had shot at 2nd seed in the East..

This side of the bracket is pointless. None of these teams can beat the cavs.

Low-key, Charlotte's been getting some Warrior-esque rigged reffing this series. How many times does the league office need to carry DK in his lifetime?

They pulled that in the FINALS

Surprised a Wade hater like you would say such a thing.

Not the reason why we lost today, though. Calls were all over the place, favoring each team at different points

Impressive showing by the hornets. If they can win in games where their main penetrator are struggling to score, they are going to be a tough out. Toronto is going to struggle against this team. 50/50 between raps and beez imo.
The Raptors bench can't bail out DeRozan/Lowry b/c the Hornets themselves have a top bench unit. Al Jefferson would also torch Jonas along w/ Lin/Kemba on PnRs.

Miami is the most overrated team in the NBA, as I've been saying all year(a lot of known names on their roster make them appear better than they actually are), but the refs have destroyed them in this series..NBA desperate for the Asian market

Lin has been going to the rim all year TBH..he's been pretty aggressive. He's getting more calls than he normally gets, but outside of a few, I think he's earned many of them.

But there have definitely been fouls that MIA has not gotten.

8th seed in the East would be the 6th seed in the West.

    that one

Western team fans shouldnt really be trash talking eastern teams this year. The East has actually been more compe ive.

Heat looked like a championship contender when Deng was playing like Kawhi while Marvin was shooting bricks like Ariza. Otherwise, the Spurs have exposed their halfcourt offense & Whiteside is a terrible PnR defender.

Not really. Hornets/Miami/Boston/Hawks/Pacers/Detroit would lose to the Spurs in 4. Toronto may get to 5. Cleveland could possibly push us to 6 with ref help. They suck just like usual.

Being compe ive within a group of bad teams doesn't mean better.

They are all bad, the West just have two much better teams, including one historically great team, that dwarfs everybody else.

Pre-injury, GSW, Spurs, OKC, and Clippers are clearly better than all the teams in the East, except maybe the Cavs (and I am being generous here). Blazers are at least on par with the 2-seed in the East, Rockets and Mavs are better than half the East playoff teams.

remember when hornets last made the playoff when they had diaw/jax? then after the playoffs mj got rid of them for being a cheapskate?

better enjoy this hornets while you still can, can see mj letting some of the turds go to stay under the cap to collect tax revenue sharing.. .

Money wasn't the reason why he let them go. Diaw was released because at that time he didn't care about basketball and had ballooned over 300 pounds. Diaw being super out of shape was the reason why the Spurs were able to get him since the rest of the league thought he was finished. MJ got rid of Jax to create cap space in hopes of getting a super free agent but obviously that didn't work out.

This was a very divisive series here on ST with a lot of people picking the Hornets & just as many picking the Heat but not feeling comfortable about it.

Evenly matched teams overall, but very different styles. It's impressive how CHA bounced back after the first 2 games and this can still go either way.

For one time in how long? The West still has the best top 4 and it's not really close. You are now seeing how fluky some of the East records were (TOR) as well.

East did improve for sure and teams like CHA & DET looked good.

Did you apply this same logic to the Spurs when they were putting up empty 50+ win seasons tbh?

Let's not act like there wasn't a period where the Spurs were the Hawks/Raptors of padded regular season win stats.

    Regular Season Champs
