Pointless hypothetical. CP3 would come here because the Spurs sell him on their vision of surrounding him with the right talent to compete for les. There is also no controversy with Parker, who has already said he'd accept a bench role in the future. That future being CP3.
A bench role where he doesn't play if he is innefective? I highly doubt that.

He still has delusions of grandeur. His play the last few years has kind of confirmed he still thinks he is way better than what he actually is.

His recent comments tend to further validate that theory. In his mind, he is coming off of a torn quad at the age of 35 and thinks he will come back playing his best basketball.

He also still thinks he will be able to play to 40. If he plays to 40 then it's going to be strictly in a towel waiving mode for the last 3 years.

The only way in he'll he plays to 40 is because the spurs are "loyal" to him and don't want to hurt his feelings and give him a dose of truth serum.

I will bet that no other team in the nba will have tony parker on a roster at age 38 or greater. He might get a 1 year vet minimum with a team/player option for year 2 after his current contract expires if the spurs don't resign him.

I think this was very difficult to decide. But Spurs need to get better. I hope it's not for nothing. G.hill when he was traded was for a worthy cause. I hope this turns out similar (can't say the same bc Kiwi is unique), but rather that it wasn't to get worse.

I can't think of 15 better shooting guards

Excluding the guys on rookie deals, he's a bargain. And in before the clown who says "what about Lou Williams for $7 million":

I laugh at those who thought Parker was going to be traded. No one named Kawhi or Parker is going to be traded. Same reason Manu will come back. If you have watched the Spurs for the past 15 years you would know that

I'm pretty sure Parker will accept a Manu-type role for the remainder of his years at the Spurs (I mean years). He can offer stability to the 2nd unit and still play +20 mins a game. With CP3 and Parker at PG it could be a definite combo. I can see real value in that. The SPurs have an issue at PG today that has to be fixed in order to ring. They will fix it either way.

Chris Paul negotiated the ing CBA to give himself an advantage, financially he's taking every single dollar available..Spurs better clear out all the space they can clear, he isn't taking a discount to play in SA..
even with all cap space in the world, Spurs cannot afford what Clips can.

Not resigning with Clips he would potentially leave 50 M on the table, he could sign a max 1+1 deal with Spurs before signing a new max deal to balance things out. Now it depends if he feels he is healthy enough to take that kind of risk or not. But yeah CP3 is no Dwight Howard.

It is kind of funny that other teams throw out a name or pick and all of a sudden there are 15 rumors, but Spurs throw out Green and LMA and it's crickets. Green is tradable under multiple scenarios, but I'm most curious about LMA trade value. Doesn't look like he is worth a lottery pick in a deep draft. Is he worth 5-15? I mean, he will average a double double for the next 3 to 4 years.

    Choke Paul

It'll take one entire 82 game season at full perfect healthy for everyone to get used to his style, tendencies, and vice versa...then you're talking his injury and his choke factor.
They call him Choke Paul downstairs for a reason.

I'd imagine LMA would be a decent fall back plan for at least a couple teams. A lot can change before the draft tonight. As for Green, we'll see.

Expect the Spurs to trade DG, to get a broken down CP3; then DG shutting down people and making 47% 3s to eliminate the Spurs in the playoffs (While CP3 nurses some hamstring injury).

I see the Spurs sending DG to the east.

What if the spurs were able to clear enough space to sign cp3 without salary dumping parker but cp3 refused to come because the spurs won't cut ties with Tony unless parker is out of the picture and another piece could be brought in.

For purposes of an example, what if demon walked and Paul insisted they bring in a big with pick n roll diving ability who is a decent alley oop guy.

If Paul insisted on it would you just say off or would you then be willing to salary dump parker? Anyone who says no and is hanging on to tony's own pipe dream that he will be back in january playing his best basketball is delusional.
