How was this the FO's fault? They had a commitment from Morris, and everyone was lauding it as a great move and praising the FO until he ed out on the deal.

When teams get a verbal commitment, the expectation is that it will hold up and in 99% of cases, it does.

This is all on the Knicks and Morris...the Spurs acted in good faith and got screwed.

I was initially angry at the Spurs FO, but really what can you do.. no protections in place from the league to stop this type of from happening.. You just hope guys are still worth their word in today's society and Morris didn't care about his.. Seriously the Spurs have to fly in a FA prospect and have him in the room ready to sign as soon as getting off the phone with the other team they were to trade with FFS.

Hopefully karma will be a for Morris this season

His overall game wasn't as good as Matt Bonner, which is saying something, and that something isn't good. His shooting was definitely better, but he made bonehead decisions on defense and looked, at times, like he'd never done anything with a basketball in his life other than learn to shoot 3s.

I loved how he blossomed last year, and even started putting the ball on the floor a bit, but he was still a project. His timely 3s helped us win some regular season games. Losing him sucks, however, I think the Spurs will be ok.
