That is your call amigo...the fact still remains that Duff did not pay back Jim and if you pay Jim...that fact doesn't change and the albatross will hang on Duff's neck forever.i'm sorry man, but I'm gonna give Jim back his money in Duff's name.
I don't care too much about Duff, since I don't now him and because I don't have the patience to read all the threads on this subject so I skip them.
The reason I did read this particular thread is because of Jim's proposal. I find it admirable in this day and age that somebody would help an anonymous screen name with 800$ (I know it's not a fortune - although I wouldn't call it "nothing") just on the premises that he thought that person was in trouble and that money would go for a good purpose. When the forum started pilling up on Duff, Jim was the one embarassed. That just plain, old fashinoed decent and I'm really impressed by your character Jim. I wrote this because in all of the Duff bashing Jim's gesture is getting overlooked - and I know Jim is going to be embarassed by it.
Now if you'll excuse me I must go write Rasho's name on some cheap ass T-shirts I bought the other day....

If everyone's concern was Jim getting ripped off, then problem solved.
Zak is giving out of his own free will. It is his call to make.
Duff still has a chance to redeem himself by paying Zak back.
