A personal story of a Vietnam draft dodger who would not attend the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to honor the suckers killed in action in WW1 because they could not get a draft deferment arranged by their daddy.

Yam s was gazing intently at the wall in the poorly lit bar; the 1,000 yard gaze of someone who has been there and regretted coming back.
Lost in thought, as much as trying to gain his courage to continue; so much had happened.
He was starting his third deferment and he knew he was in trouble; the nightmares never stopped, even when he was awake; this was madame KGs world and he was living on borrowed time.
Sure, it was different in the beginning. On his first deferment, he was brash, as he felt he and his squad owned the day as well as the night.
Funny how that change so quickly after the first night; they all laughed and called her Katie; until every other member in the barracks woke up with searing pain in the morning from the clap.
Respect was learned the hard way; she was Katie Girl; she had grown up quickly and was playing for keeps.
The second deferment was no better; everyone learned that syphilis, gonorrhea, black clap was just one bathroom stall date away; they did not own the night, KG owned the night; it was her world.
Yam s kept staring at the wall; he knew he was not safe, not even in the daylight; madame KG was everywhere; she was out and staying out.

It was dark in the cuck shed and he had to remain quiet; he thought he heard the sounds of madame KG’s regular midnite express, and he was terrified; but he was ready for a long night in the cuck shed; the bulls were always terrifying to Yam s so he had learned to lay low and only listen from the safety of his cuck shed every night.
He strained to hear and sat there quietly. He heard banging and motion, definitely, he heard the sounds; vigorous noises that lasted for seconds, then minutes, impossible hours, the back to seconds; as the hours rolled and it was now morning, he heard the distinct sounds of madame KG enter the house through the front door and set her purse down.
Something was wrong, something was terribly wrong!
With a tear in his eye, the realization hit him like a sledgehammer in a dark alley; he needed to call the plumber; the water heater had burst and needed replacement!!!!

His mind was set; he would put in fraudulent insurance claim for 10 times the estimate to repair (it was a brand thing); he would hire unsuspecting mom and pop companies, complain afterwards about the workmanship, offer to pay only $25 an hour, or have them take him to court.
He had done this a hundred times before; he had the lawyers; it was his money; he was a grifter; it was in his blood.
