I'd trust Shams tbh. Local guys are most likely keeping it shut. Which means that Pop is in a way worse situation than originally advertised. Man .
They’re firing the reporters, and keeping the talking heads.

Shams is first and foremost a reporter tbh. Trusting the local guys who have to carry water for PATFO on this is foolish.
With absolutely no evidence, and pure speculation on my part, my guess is it was a myocardial infarction.
And it's just different talking heads regurgitating the same stories on different shows.
I keep ESPN on as background noise when I'm working from home, and you'll see the same person go on three different shows and read the same script over and over again....sometimes word for word.
I get there are only so many stories to talk about each day, but at least try to change it up or, you know...talk about teams other than the Lakers, Warriors, Cowboys, Dodgers, and Yankees.
The one thing I’m certain about with this is that the local guys have no idea what’s going on.
Let’s hope that Pop makes a full and speedy recovery
Lot of blame on the ‘local guys’ but they’re not reporting nothing serious, they’re quoting a league source.
If it was a real serious issue than Pop likely had to go to the hospital, he could even still be there and if that's was the case then the local guys likely know, they are just keeping quiet and will wait for the Spurs say something when they are ready.
The fact that no one from the team apparently has talked to him is concerning. That does make one wonder about a stroke. But big picture, he's so intensely private there's a lot of ways this could go.
I don't think it's something like a stroke, we'd have heard noises
I think it can be a simple of a bad flu, it can take or your energy away so fast and you look like a zombie. (hence the witnesses being "shoked"?)
He needs rest and it'll take him a cple weeks to get back in shape
It could've been a mild stroke.
My grandma had one last year. She didn't even lose conciousness, managed to call an ambulance.
Her vitals were fine a few days later, but she still hasn't and probably never will regain full motor functions back.
Can't move her left arm above the shoulder and stuff like that. Stuff that's manageable in daily life, but would obviously impact one's ability to coach a basketball team.
There's a reason people in their 70s are retired, especially from physically demanding jobs.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandma, I hear some rehab can do miracles, hope she gets better.
Tbh I understand the local medias (for once) if they kept it for them if they actually saw anything. It belongs to the private sphere imo
All we can do is hope and pray for those of us who're lucky to have faith
Thanks. As I said, she's fine. Cognitive functions are as normal, can't expect more at 85.
Yeah, should've put out a statement that Pop is on an indefinite leave, hopefully those mainstream s bags respect his privacy.Tbh I understand the local medias (for once) if they kept it for them if they actually saw anything. It belongs to the private sphere imo

Hopefully he can come back and get a proper send off, but I expect this to be his last season, even if he does.
It's all speculation- but please everyone go get your flu shots
Even young people can get very ill from influenza
Based on the lack of comment from the organization I seriously doubt we see him coaching again. I imagine it was a TIA or dizzy spells or whatever but Pop is the type that will just say thats it and walk away.
Could Pop retire from coaching, stay in the front office... but moonlight as a court-side reporter during games?.. interviewing the new coach at the half like, "Your rotations seem haphazard tonight. Did you forget [player] was on the team?"
Mitch Johnson said "He'll be OK, and we can't wait to have him back...We have talked and nothing Changes."
I believe whatever it was, it was literally just a "scare" but that he's okay and just recovering.
Spurs are probably just telling him that they don't him to rush back. For him to take his time.
Won't be back for a while after the election tbh
Hopefully he they keeping him away from TV because if he finds out Trump won he might go into cardiac arrest.
Pop should have retired a few years ago. He's 75 having to travel every week, coach games, do post game interviews, go to practice. All of that is strenuous for guys in their 30s, and he's 75!!! I don't know why no one here sees that.
He should probably flee the country before January 20th to avoid being sent to a re-education camp.
They probably don't even need to dial up that much pageantry. They could just shoot him dead in the street and half the country would be fine with it tbh.
Or they could shoot him in a death camp in secret and half the country would say he just retired and wanted privacy.
