I didn't get to see the game, but why does the Boxscore say Tony attempted THREE 3 pointers? I think he got a little too confident after the Miami game...

How is it that the smallest player in the NBA (Boykins) always seems to have his best games against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA?
Whoever guarded him, did not guard him.

No Manu, no Horry, no chemistry. I wish we could just get to a point where the damn rotations could be set. Still a lot of basketball left to be played but we should have won this game today, especially at home. Oh well.

    The loss is right here:

    Nick + Michael + Brent = 7 - 28, 25% FGs.

If they had shot 42%, Spurs win.

Spurs 4 - 23 3Gs. It seems like the worse the Spurs shoot 3Gs, they more they shoot them, even if it means blowing the game. When something is failing miserably, like 3Gs, or 4- ing-down, try something else, dumb s.

Pop was out-coached, and Spurs out-played. An impressively ty loss.

Oh yeah go ahead and say that we didn't have Ginobili and embarass yourself! Dallas has won both games against Denver with a crippled lineup! The Suns manage to win without Amare!
Actually, we were exactly on pace to keep up with last-year's record until today... and last year at this point we hadn't lost ginobili for so many games. The Suns, on the other hand, are five games behind their pace from last year after 39 games having lost amare. Based on this, it's actually pretty amazing how we have continued to win at the same rate without our second best player, while teams like the suns have fallen off significantly.

I agree, we had a totally healthy team last year all the way up until Tim's injury in March didn't we. It could be a lot worse for us. Hopefully we can get all the injury crap over with in the first half of the season and go on a tear in the second.

Suns have had their entire roster reloaded, including 3 of their starting 5 players from last season. Spurs have the same players they had last season, and have added two former All Stars and a Gold Medalist.

How can you say that the Suns have fallen off significantly? That has to be the craziest thing I've ever heard. The fact that they're only 5 games off despite their #1 option out the entire season so far and the fact that they have 3 new starters and a whole diff bench and they're still managing to lead their div...I'd hardly call that a significant fall off.

    Spurs 4 - 23 3Gs.
It's the games where we shoot so many threes that we usually lose.

And as usual, an overreliance on Tim Duncan. Think he had 8 turnovers today.

Uh-Oh. Our next set of games is a back to back. At home against Bobcats and on road vs. Hornets. Maybe we should just pencil in the loss in the second game, right now.

I'm not saying the suns have fallen off significantly as a team, or that they are under-performing. But in terms of win/loss ratio, their pace this year is significantly behind their pace from last year. This year they are winning 2/3 of their games, 66.6% (a record of 26-13). Last year they were winning 79.5% of their games at this point (with a 31-8 record). That IS a significant drop-off in win %, regardless of changes to their roster (and their pickups this year haven't turned out to be so bad...).

Those are typically the games where NVE, Finley, and Barry play many minutes.....

Anyways, it seems everyone on the Spurs (minus maybe Nazr and Oberto!) sucked today. From Tony to Tim to NVE, Barry, and Finley.

    Good offensive game by Nazr.

But what a frustrating fourth quarter! I really felt like the game was ours to take if we would have just fought for it.

1.- Nazr played well on offense and rebounded well but still regularly misses his spot on D and sometimes forgets about his role on O.

2.- Duncan was getting hacked a lot and in front of the ref too - not getting the call.

3.- The 3rd fould on Rasho was BS

4.- Parker was being doubled, while Nazr was just standing around the 3 point lines - Tony yells at Nazr a lot.

5.- The Nuggs collapsed in the lane hard and the Spurs 3 wasn't falling.

6.- Oberto looked good in the 1st half.

7.- I hate Najera, and I'm also not too hot about Boykins.

8.- Concession stand on the Charter level serve steaks

    That is all.

Can anyone tell me the last time we won a day game? I thought that the camera showing Manu yawning in the 4th quarter was appropriate.

I didn't see Gino. If the fan cam showed him, I missed it. How did he look, M?

Slomo- just saw your game summary.

pathetic game. the guards were horrible, duncan was horrible. the only bright spots were nazr and oberto. both of these guys deserve way more playing time.

finley and horry, sorry, you're good role players, but your roles have been too big thus far.
Sorry don't agree.Just because Nazr and Oberto have one good game does not mean they "deserve way more playing time.."

day games, 2nd of back to backs, games against top/hot teams,
almost always beyond the reach of the Spurs this season.

I agree, Manu does have a fragile ass body.

He should try to get bigger this summer, lift a lot of weights....but that might not even work because 90% of his injuries are leg injuries: knees, thigh, ankle, foot, etc.
