Brent was on the charter to Memphis - I think his dad was mistaken about the whole thing!
The Ticket said the deal was for Mike Dunleavy. Interesting.

Pop, is that you?
Soooooo....if Brent did get on the plane, does that mean he might get traded to Memphis?

I called Don Harris about the rumor when it came up here and he was trying to find out who it was for.
So I guess that answers that.
:vomit
Thank God that trade didn't go down. All the Spurs need is a more wussified version of Brent Barry with a giant contract.
I just wish they would trade Rasho back to Solvenia...
Barry for Dunleavy straight up doesn't look like it works. I wonder what the deal was.
Either way, Dunleavy not the Spurs is a plus.
I would have been so mad if Brent got traded. I can't wait until tomorrow. This is my least favorite day of the year.
Dunleavy makes little sense. It wasn't even necessarily GS.
No offense to Don, but he believed Pop yesterday when he said the Spurs weren't looking to trade.

After the commercial break, Don Harris is coming back with the scoop on it.
Well, the guys on the Ticket were speculating that it was Dunleavy. It may not have been.
The Spurs are usually pretty honest AFTER the trade deadline about what they were trying to do.
Any update on this yet?
The deal supposedly fell through. He would still have had time to then catch the plane. I am sure they don't leave for that short of a flight before 2 PM.
But the Spurs haven't said anything-- that I know of.

I don't know if Don confirmed it was the Warriors/Dunleavy.
Just listen live now - they are going to be talking about it after the commercial break.
Someone here said the Ticket guys (Vex/Walter) were just speculating about Dunleavy.
I have my reservations about it being GS also. I'm just wondering if too much was put into it being announced on a SF radio station. Dunleavy just doesn't seem right either, but , what do I know.
Don just said only what we know here.
Rick said on his show that Brent called him this morning and told him that he wasn't going to Memphis that he was told not to go to the plane, etc.
Then Rick speculated that it might be to Golden State.
Then right before the Spurs boarded, Rick reported that the deal was called off.
Brent got on the plane and went to Memphis.
So all other speculation by Walter, Vex and anyone else on it being with the Warriors, for Dunleavy, whatever, is just speculation.
Maybe they were trying to get in on the four team trade. /speculation
If this is the case then the deal isnt officially dead yet I would think. That much paper work would leave a lot of doors open...
No one with the Spurs is talking- huh? I have someone I can sometimes get scoop out of and can't get anything out of him either.
What do you make of that?
They must have been damn close for them to tell Barry not to go to the plane. I wonder what exactly made it (whatever it was) fall through.
You and me both.
