If true, 12-18 months means that he'll be going to a state jail. Not any kind of place he has to worry about protecting his cornhole. Everyone serving in those places are on their best behavior for the most part. That's because they're close to joining the free world. No need to get into trouble when you're that close to freedom.
If he's smart, the only things he'll be doing for the next 12-18 months is keeping his mouth shut, and doing exactly what the correctional officers tell him to do.
