I used to have a bunch of gear but I couldn't tell you where it all ended up. Not every single person needs a bat though. Not everyon needs a 50 dollar glove either.

I don't know why Sequ is so paranoid, though.

Yeah, softball seems like a fun sport but Ancira Rec. Leagues are notorious for having those 2-3 softball guys on each coed team that jack the out of the ball which in a 10 game season is damn near guaranteed to hit your girl playing second base and someone is going to hurt.

Seriously, if you can't play then grab the pom poms.

Our SS had the s ches of the sotball engraved on the bridge of his nose when the ball pop up on a grounder. His nose was bleeding from the outside and in. Last season a guy broke his leg sliding into second. Also a guy got hit real bad covering second base waiting for the ball.

Yeah.. you don't have to have cleats, only "softball guy" has to be in full uniform.

Gloves can be purchased for less than 30. That is correct. A decent bat is about 70 and up.

I played ball at Ancira, SA Rec, Southton, Castillo's Ice House from 95-02, then my number was retired. I am just letting you know about the a-holes that play in the rec. leagues that shouldn't be allowed to play. They ruin the fun for folks like you all.

I'll definitely go out there and drink a beer when you all play. Just make sure you wear your cup.

In a way that is true. A softball strike is when it lands right behind the plate which for me is kind've high.

I always stood in the very back of the box.

Softball gave me broken fingers, a herniated disk and lower back pain. It's not really that fun anymore, but I still go do it every now and then.

I think there are other options out there for softball rather than Ancira. They are money hungry fools.

How does the pitching work? Do you pitch to your own team or do you get to pitch to the other team? If it's B, I'm gonna half to dust off the ol' pitching arm and work on my underhand knuckleball and circle curve.

you pitch to the other team. they have rules on the heights of the flight though, but you can throw knuckles and some spin but thats about it. also, since you buy your own balls, they pitch your balls to you as well.

Yeah us short guys get the short end of stick on the strike zone. It's suppose to be in between you knees and below your shoulders. The ball that is when is passes by the plate.

$65 for the league, say $40 for the glove, $40 for your cleats, $20 chip in for the bat. Thats $165 easliy.

You see another......, the bases don't give way. They are there to stay, unlike most bases that break off when you hit them hard.

My biggest problem is the 1 home run rule. That sucks I'll hit 4 homeruns and be 1 for 4.

But you can get a solid Easton softball bat for $70.
