The way the organization conducts themselves and the way it treats players probably had something to do with the results. Good weather for the most part, lower cost of living, no state tax are probably all factors as well. We all know how that worked out for them, making a huge splash with the signing of "Big Shot" Stromile Swift, the man destined to put them over the top as a contender. On a related note, even I will have to admit that Houston is twice the nightmare SA is as a city.

Why are you getting so bent out of shape because someone disses your city? , I live in Austin and go to San Antonio all the time, the city has nothing to do with the Spurs/Mavs rivalry. Because players want to play in a team where they feel they are wanted. A loyal, "true" fan base can do this to you. The players feel respected.

Now a team paired with someone named Cuban... i don't know.

I think that is why people get pissed. The rivalry should be about basketball, not the respective cities themselves. Talking trash about basketball teams is part of the rivalry, dissing someone's city makes it personal to some.
