Its not just a few comments with OU fans either. Last year I had a guy spend the entire game telling me how much UT sucked. He spent a good 70% of the time he was there turned around to inform me that UT and all of its players were horrible and would never amount to anything. Now, this guy was of course sitting on the burnt orange side of the stadium, also known as the Longhorn side. He (like you) could not figure out why no one was showing him (or his team) any love. I've gone to games and sat in the midst of fans from the other team. In the holiday bowl, I sat on the WSU side, and had tons of things yelled at me and in my direction. I didn't sit there and cry though. I was sitting on their team's side in burnt orange. I deserved it. If you go visit A&M or an Aggie board, all they do is talk trash about UT 98% of the time. They rarely ever even mention their own team. I almost believe that if UT had lost to USC in the Rose Bowl that they would have celebrated as if though they had just won the National Championship. As for the Rose Bowl, I went out to Cali and wore UT stuff and had several comments about how much the Longhorns were going to lose made at me. I expected that too. I was in Trojan territory. I wasn't expecting hugs and kisses for the Longhorns. Thats the point. You're in "enemy territory." You shouldn't expect the people here to love, like, or even respect your team. Its a rivalry. Deal with it.

I've never been spit on, but I have had friends almost get thrown out of opposing stadiums simply for telling the home team's fans to shut up or giving them a dirty look, and to top it off this all came after said fans had been talk crap to my friends all game.

Sadly, a friend's 12 yr old daughter was spit on during game 3. Its not indicative of all Mav fans, in fact I would guess that very few would resort to that, but still sucks that it happened.

I try and stay away from the trashier fans when I go to Spurs games...although I did sit by Phoenix's owner last year. That was interesting.

Mavs fans -- here's the deal ... This is a Spurs board. It has an NBA section where you can circle jerk all day about the Mavs. It has an NBA Finals thread where you can talk about the series and I've repeatedly deleted all the Mavs bashing out of it by Spurs fans. Because a lot of Spurs fans are bitter .. or just plain stupid. So they just don't get it.

It takes a lot to get banned here. There are currently Mavs fans on this board that have called me , told me You, etc and they are still here. There are Pistons fans, Mavs fans, Kings fans and Spurs fans here that have crossed the line and been banned ... and then begged their way back in. I usually will let almost anyone back in once.

Basically, the main rule is don't spam my board. Meaning don't go into every topic with "Mavs Rule. Spurs suck" type posts.

Also ...

Don't start repe ive topics. If you do, I will usually go in the thread, provide you a link to a previous thread on the same topic, then close the thread.

Don't start threads in the Spurs forum if they don't concern the Spurs. If you do, it will likely just be moved. So before you start another thread crying "Where's my thread?" just look around for it.

Contrary to some opinions, you can't just be banned for nothing by the Mods. ChumpDumper, Aggie Hoopsfan, Whottt, etc help me out by moderating here. I go look every night and see what they've done when I'm not home. A lot of the time I unban people or move things, whatever. They are helping me out because I'm not here 24 hours a day and they do an absolutely awesome job ... but they don't have the final say on anything. I do. As someone pointed out in an earlier post, this isn't a democracy. I rule.

If you don't like someone, put them on your ignore list.

I am probably the most tolerant person you'll ever see running a message board, but don't screw around here just for the sake of screwing around.

If you want to talk pure unmoderated smack, go to the Troll Forum. That's what it is for.

Mavs fans have been annoying as as a group. Far worse than any other group of fans that have ever been on this board. But I'm still willing to work with you guys and try to bring you around to being normal, civilized posters. I know you guys have never gotten this far before and are giddy with excitement. Try to handle it with a little more class.
