Don't worry. I'll probably keep watching this tournament until the end. I just need some time so that my head calms down ...

    I know. Me too.

The only thing that is helping me is that I was rooting for Gino all along too.
That and I am living to see Turkey lose!

As Argentina plays Turkey next, it all works out for me.

Will you follow suit with your V-Bookie?

    I want new shoes.
FYI today I lost three bets and won none.

I didn't know you were Turkish.

    Congrats on the win.

I'm now rooting for Gino so this isn't over between us.
    Revenge will be mine! Bwahahahahaha

Believe me I'm extremely realistic about Turkey's chances against Argentina. I'd be happy to make a pregame deal with them, "You don't embarass us and win by more than 20, and we won't injure Manu."

Seriously, as a Spurs fan, I'm kind of worried here. My team plays quite physically. Sadly it doesn't look like the Tur-Slo game will be televised on replay.

It had better be! Otherwise there was no reason in the world to not show it live on media zone.
I'd been looking forward to seeing team Slovenia all day.

I must be waking up. I am starting to have coherent thoughts.

So Team Slovenia will still get a nice reception when they get back home, right?

probably, because nobody but their family will bother to go to airport.

    Which one was better?

    Sagadin?
    Urlep?
    Zrinski?
    Subotic?
I believe that of the ones you mentioned Sagadin, has the most bball knowledge and inteligence, but his methods are totally inadequate for working with the NT (he needs total control over his teams for a long period) and he carries a lot ob past baggage with him.

None were better than Pipan, but it does not contradict the fact that Pipan is incapable of doing this job. Just because somebody is the least horrible doesn't mean that they should get the job. I understand the National associations reluctance to go abroad, without trying with local talent, but I believe that there's no other option left.

I would not be shocked if this turns out to be Rasho's last game on the national team. He will be 31 next summer and has been playing basically year round for 3 years now. Spending those 3 seasons on the Spurs also meant long play-offs- more travel- 2 training camps away in France and the VI- and very short breaks. Some summers he only had one week between NT and training camp. If he commits to one more EC, he will have played almost entirely from Oct 2003- May 2008 and will be 32 years old. He has also expressed in the past his belief that at some point, the players of his generation will have had their shot and it will be time to step aside and give the next wave of players the oppportunity.

Primoz said this summer that his days on the NT may be ending soon, as well. The time commitment away from his wife and child is difficult when the summer is the only time he has really to be around. Also, he is a FA next summer and could be without a contract for a while. It will be interesting to see the make-up of this team next summer.

Congrats to the Slovenian National Team. They were the lowest ranked team in FIBA to advance to the round of 16 and in their first ever WC. Some will be content with that result, but others know the years it took to get there and will regret the missed opportunities.

I really don't understand why he has to shoot some half fadeaway jumpers instead of goint to the rim.
Sorry, but this statement made me laugh, for obvious reasons.

If I ever learn Slovenian, these will have to be the first words I say.

i think doesn't steam from their love for local talent, but from the low cost of this talent.

Absolutely (I never used the word "love"), there also wasn't much reasons for the higher cost until probably last year (or even this one). Now if they want to make the next step, the head coach position must be the first position they look at.

Coach?? We should get Ettore Messina.

What i learned from this WC is that currently in our team only Rasho, Becirovic, and probably Lakovic cannot be replaced. Beno disappointed me because i expected of him to really step up this time, Nachbar played much better than in the past, I was also pleased with what Ozbolt and Slokar showed.

We got between 16 which is very realistic for us, but we missed great opportunity. Pipan is not the worst coach, but that's all from him. If our guys lose three games in final minutes i blame the coach.

Anyways i had good time, i hope they persuade Rasho to play one more EC.

I´m disapointed. Pipan disapointed me. And KZS. Players were good. I hope Rasho will play on for Slovenia...

Lack of a go-to-player is IMO bigger problem than Pipan.
