What the are you so mad about? You get the pansy Royals for the final three games of the season, while the Twins get the slumping, but much better ChiSox.

    ADVANTAGE DETROIT!!!

Not mad, just annoyed. Detroit does have the advantage since the Twins have to win the division outright. GL, and may the better team win.

You mean the guy who pitched right with Roger Clemens?

    He might.

But hes pitched pretty solid for the birds since they acquired him.

Hes a solid number 5 guy.

They are still a half game behind, and you think they are gonna win saturday with a guy who pitched 2 and 2 thirds last night?

They probobly will, but your yness mr Spurs just acquired Kurt Thomas, is a little annoying.

    Town it down spunky.

    Probobly not.

But gotta love your objectiveness here.

TPark, how can I tone it down???

My team has underachieved all year, they made no moves before trading deadline to add pop to their anemic lineup, they totally disappointed all of us Astros fans all year, they were DEAD in the water just 10 days ago. But they actually have a good chance to not only make the playoffs, they have the best chance to make the World Series, if they do get in post season, given the Mets' problems, especially the season ending injury to Pedro.

You Tpark, would be just as "spunky" if the tables were turned, yes?

The St Louis fan(s) in here seem pretty defeated at this point. I'm thinking the team has to feel the same way.

I think we are a better team. I think our injuries are dragging us down. Can't be a contender when your #2 and All Star pitcher has been hurt all season and is now out, your All Star closer has been suffering from complecations of hip surgery all season and is now out, your All Star, Golden Glove, and 2-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year Center Fielder has been out for 2 months with post-concussion syndrome and is still having vertigo issues, and your All Star and Golden Glove Short Stop has been out for 2 months with injuries.

No excuses, just facts. Our pitching sucks and we have relied on offense and outstanding defense. Our 2 best defensive players are gone, and we have no offensive continuity.

This team will have at least a top 2 in each of MVP, Cy Young, and Comeback Player (Rolen) and also a top 5 Rookie of Year (Duncan) and likely 2 Gold Gloves (Al, Rolen) and yet is going no where. Its a tuff call... do you want to win the Central and get blasted in the playoffs or just go home? Sure I want to win the Central (to make it 6 in 7 years?) but still the team is injured bad right now.

The problem with the Cardinals is they have 1 #1 starter and 4 #5 starters.
    then there's the bullpen...

    Not defeated at all.

The team is struggling due to injuries, and its an uphill battle.

Its tough to watch a team busting their collective butts and ZIPPO is going right.

Anthony Reyes and Suppan are not #5 starters give me a break.

Suppan has the lowest ERA in the major leagues after the all star break.

    #5 guys don't do that.

Honestly Im hoping the way it goes.

Dodgers win the divison, Padres play the Mets, beat the mets in 5 in looong games.

Cards play the equally depleted Dodgers and hopefully beat htem.

    That would be ideal.

If there was anyone to know about choking, it would be a Red Sox fan.
Wouldn't that be the same team that swept your Cardinals in the World Series back in 2004?

Cards win, again. Magic # is 1.

If the strobes tank tonight, we can shelve Carpenter and save him for the playoffs, and there will be no makeup game. If they win, he will pitch tomorrow.
