Texas. But my point is, who gives if Texas won 6 in a row before this, or if A&M won 6 in a row from '84-'89, or even if Texas leads the all time series by a lot. This team used to do this. The other team used to do that. The Mavericks also beat the Spurs in the playoffs last year.

I think I look into things far too much too carry on an intellectual conversation. I don't need name calling to prove my point. I'm not saying the hit was a lapse in judgement, I want to make that clear. But, it was one hit, of many. Was it late, maybe. My point was this. and it is not simply directed at Colt, but anyone, DO LET YOUR GUARD DOWN UNTIL THE WHISTLE HAS BLOWN, whether it be professional, collegiate, highschool, pee-wee, whatever. I think Colt did it out of frustration. I'm not placing any blame on him. It very well may be that I would have done the same. I do not think it was dirty. For it to be dirty, I believe the intent to cause harm would have to be present, which it is not. A lapse of judgement would characterize the situation better, IMHO.
Sorry, I mistated, I was referring to being in the process of before the whistle was being blown, which I believe occurred. ABC didn't really give an accurate replay to the the timing at which the hit occurred.

I just saw the hits on SportsCenter....ouch. Honestly I think the first one was dirty but I don't think the second one was. None of us know for sure...just an opinion.
No one, well, at least myself, takes satisfaction in the injury of a player, even our greatest rivals. I remember being upset because I thought Colt would not be able to play against the Aggies. He obviously was able, as he did so today. I wonder though, how heathly he was? I suppose if he's cleared, he's cleared. I don't think Heard had any intention of hurting him, but caught up in the moment, you catch yourself not thinking sometimes.

The fact of the matter is that had the DB not tackled Dodge (who made the INT), Colt McCoy was the only guy between him and the end zone on an INT return.
Colt was stupid to even start thinking about unbuckling his chin strap, and methinks he won't make the same mistake again.
Good to hear he's okay though (released from hospital), I'm still not sure that Mack should have played him today, he didn't look the same as he had earlier in the season.
All comments about dirty or not aside - Kellen Heard is a gigantic idiot and this is his 3rd such penalty in late game situations this season. His idiotic late hit against Zac "No Game" Taylor pretty much cost the Aggies the game outside of Fran's stupid clock management. I just can't believe that when Justin Warren and Mark Dodge are in his face on the sidelines after that dumb hit on Colt, he had the audacity to talk back to them... unacceptable - he needs to accept his punishment like a man and listen to his linebackers.
Even though I sit on the other side of the rivalry....I have the utmost respect for A&M and what their school stands for. I don't believe that one players action is reflective of an entire program. I think the kid used poor judgement and I would imagine his coaches and teammates will take care of that.
Colt was just not there. Hopefully all this uproar will cause people to realize Greg Davis needs to get his fat plump stupid ass out of austin. Even with a 75% colt, we still have a very talented team, and to only put up 7 at home is disgusting. Chizik seemed to be bent on not making adjustments either but i haven't rewatched or anything to confirm that.

I gotta stick up for Jim on this one. We don't always agree and have had our debates but the dude is first class all the way. He just voiced a difference of opinion. I agreed about the last hit. I think a flag should have been thrown because it was helmet to helmet but that alone does not imply intent. No flag was thrown so it doesn't matter anyway...and while I thought the first shot was dirty....neither of those hits were why Texas lost. A lack of effort and intensity combined with much effort and intensity by A&M is what caused this outcome. It sucks for me as a UT fan but its the truth.
