In a statement to the TV show "EXTRA," the family of J. Howard Marshall, Anna's late husband, said "Our family was shocked by the untimely death of Anna Nicole Smith. We wish to express our sympathies to her family in this difficult time. We understand that many of you will be asking questions concerning the ongoing litigation with Anna. Out of respect to her friends and family we will reserve comment on the litigation at this time

No surprise. What a dumb , she has a baby daughter that isn't even half a year old yet...
Have they said where Stern was during all of this? I think they said that they checked in together but the Police Chief didn't know where Stern was.

I'm not happy that she died, but if you OD on drugs as often as she did, take pills, use the weight-loss stuff, you are absolutely inviting this sort of thing to happen.
I don't know if she -wanted- to die or not, but people on here defending her are ridiculous. She's on weight loss and probably coked up with a 5 month old child. She's another example of a complete waste of a Hollywood personality that could have done something good with her life and her vast wealth. Instead, she (apparently) ODed and leaves her child without a mother. That is the height of selfishness and I have no sympathy for her. My grief is for the child who no longer has a mother and had little choice in this matter at all.
For the record, I know people who have taken diet pills. They're usually OK by themselves if you don't plow through them like candy, however when you mix them with alcohol and hard drugs, they can become very, very lethal, just like anything that attempts to regulate your metabolism.
Perhaps she should have been more concerned about her child than her weight. Does that make me judgmental? I don't care. Her child suffers now because of her idiocy. Don't defend that.

Emotionally she was a wreck. I was rooting for her, especially after the birth of her daughter, seconds chances and all that.
