Well I guess that means less plays on offense for Vrabel and Seau.
I don't get how you can call the Pats D "shaky" when they have shut down teams all year. The only teams that came close to beating the Pats are the Colts and Eagles, and they probably would have pulled it off if Manning and Feeley didn't choke in the clutch, but on the whole the Pats D has been pretty good all year.

Oh, I wasn't insinuating that you got your info from ESPN or SI. I kind of figured that you worked for local media since you said you talked the sports guy, etc. The thing with Marvin's injury is that it could be easily aggravated if he comes back before he's 100%. If he gets hit in the same knee again, we'd be in the same place we are now. That's why I think they have been holding him out this long. I know Dungy isn't the kind of coach to gamble with wins and losses, but like last year with the run defense (which I still contend was largely a charade given the light switch type of change between Week 17 and the Wild Card), I think they have been screwing around with the injury report in the same way Brady has thrown 39 touchdowns this year whilst being listed as probable with a shoulder injury in every game. I could be wrong and probably am, but I wouldn't put it past the Colts to do it.
Question...where is Chad Jackson and Kelly Washington? Tory James?
I wonder if they'll bring him back for this game, but then rest him again until the playoffs. I still haven't heard anything, but the guy that I'd trust the most from that department is out in Hollywood covering "Dancing with the Stars," soooo....![]()
It's hard to gauge what the Colts will do with Marvin. Obviously you want him to be healthy in the playoffs, and the Colts have a pretty easy schedule remaining after the Jacksonville game. I think they will ease him back into the game. He definitely will not play every down if he does indeed go on Sunday. We'll see if he's ready or not on Sunday, but the Colts have consistently been saying that they wanted to wait till after the stretch they just finished (Week 7-12) to bring him back, since it was the toughest part of the schedule. As it has been all year, we'll have to wait and see.
Any team with Ellis Hobbs starting at CB has a shaky defense.
Also, the LB crew is very slow, Colvin was one of our two speed LB's, but Adalius Thomas has been damn near nonexistent this year. In the AFC Championship Game last year, Indy became unstoppable on offense as soon as Colvin got hurt, because nobody else on the Patriots could cover a TE.
YOU MARVIN HARRISON.
That's my new fantasy team name.
I also considered EAT A BIG BAG OF S, RUDI JOHNSON.
Kelly Washington is an absolute beast on special teams. Also, from what I hear, he's been really valuable in practice. He's not getting alot of offensive snaps, but he's doing alot of the dirty work for us and has been an incredible addition to the team.
Chad Jackson just got onto the roster after being hurt all year, but he's 5th on the WR depth chart. Belichick has been very positive about Jackson, he's a guy that they still have high hopes for. He just can't get on the field right now with everybody in front of him.
I think Tory James got cut.
I'm surprised I haven't cut Harrison from my fantasy roster. I guess I'm holding out on him coming back, and my WR corp of Moss, Crayton, and Brandon Marshall has been decent enough to keep me at the top of my league.
Best team ever
JT...something to think about...we're running sound bites from Dungy that it looks as though Harrison isn't coming back.
I asked our sports guy if maybe the Colts are just playing with the Jags, and he said no...he REALLY thinks Harrison is done.
Take it however you want, but that's the thought going around here. (different sports guy, by the way)
Done for the season or done for his career? I've laughed in the face of everyone who's said he's done forever because of a knee bruise...and honestly I still think that isn't possible.
Well, he (our guy) made it sound like he (sports guy) thinks Harrison is done permanently, but that's just his (sports guy's) speculation...I only added that part because that's the impression he got. He thinks the injury is much more than the Colts are letting on. (This isn't on-the-record or anything...just his own opinion.)
By this point, Harrison has talked with his doctor, and practices have resumed.
The word around here is that he isn't playing this week...and, as always, you can only really go week-to-week in these situations.
But again, there's always that chance they're messing with the Jags too...but it doesn't seem that way. That's why I said, take that how you want...it's all a guessing game for us anyway.
I'm beginning to think they'll just hold him out until the playoffs, or at least another couple of games. They really don't need him for any of the remaining games since they shut down the Jags the last time they played, and Marvin only played a few snaps of that game. Granted, Garrard left that game early and has been playing well since he returned, but I think they are going to include Gonzalez more in the receiving game to get him some experience.
I really can't see a knee bruise ending the career of one of the best WRs ever.
Yeah, nothing is certain at this point, and the only reason why I brought this up is because you were talking about your fantasy picks and whatnot.
Nothing said here was to be taken as gospel, but...the soundbites from Dungy talking about this particular weekend are running, and our guys think he's telling the truth.
We'll worry about next week, next week.
Yeah, that said... I picked up Gonzo and sent Marvin back to the bench. Here's to hoping he finally catches his first NFL touchdown this weekend.![]()
Good luck!![]()
this also coming from the guy who says Stephen Jackson has a chance at making the HOF.
...reading comprehension? i said it was the best team i had ever seen, and they are. i never saw the 1977 steelers, 1985 bears, or the 1989 niners. i saw those cowboys teams and, imo, this Pats team is better.
i actually think its harder to put together dynasty and continuously successful teams nowadays...just my opinion.
I did see all those teams and I wouldn't put the 07 Patriots ahead of them yet only because they are not done yet...if they go 19-0 though?
That I would agree with.i actually think its harder to put together dynasty and continuously successful teams nowadays...just my opinion.
Don't forget the 1991 Redskins...oh, that's right, you're a Cowboys fan...![]()
You must not remember who handed those 'skins one of their losses.
if the pats win out they will be the best team ever... one, bc they will have won more games and bc players are bigger stronger and faster than ever before. lineman back in the days would only be undersized linebackers in todays nfl.
Don't you mean the '78 Steelers?
I would also add the following teams to your list.
'72 Dolphins
'75 Steelers
'76 Raiders
'84 Niners
'86 Giants
'91 Redskins
'94 Niners
'96 Packers
