Newsflash: EVERY teams announcers are homers. They are PAID BY THE TEAM. Im so sick of hearing how bad everyones announcers are.

    Not true

Memphis has some solid announcers as does Golden State.

So does NY, but I think some of the best surprisingly reside in LA (Lakers)

Shaq's been working on his free throw shooting, and it's paying off. He should've done that years ago.

If the Suns could only trade for Kobe, then Amare would have the MVP locked up.

You are right he is terrible! Infact, our whole team is either bad at defense and/or washed up. See you in the playoffs.

The Suns/Amare hate on this board is a joke. He has 41 and 14, the fourth straight game he has 30 and 10 and no one wants to give him a credit.

He's immensly talented. No, he doesn't deserve the MVP or even consideration considering he hasn't played this well all season, but there's no reason to and scream and the Suns announcers for giving him his props.

Shaq also had 20 and 12. Those two are are VERY good together.
His talent is there; no question. His game is fun to watch when he throws it down,
but i remember in 2005, he had insane playoff numbers, but they ultimately were meaningless when the series was 4-1 in the end.

It's not Amare hate, it's just plain objectivity. Stats are nice when they're in route towards a team's success.

Gawdy stats en route towards individual accolades are nice for twelve year olds.

Fact is without Shaq, Amare's output was never enough to put the Suns over the top, since his lack of defense on the other end always negated whatever he made up for in 2 pointers.

An MVP's success should be the one influencing the other players of the team a la Duncan and Nash, not the other way around. Amare up to this point has been a one-to one and a half dimensional big man at best.

Last night "The Lakers don't deserve to win tonight. " "Caron Butler just put a Dagger into the Lakers (or something like that)"

Stu Lantz on the Lakers broadcast is not a homer. Laker fans are complaining about his rooting for the other team. I don't mind at all though, he usually calls it like it is.

Not every teams announcers are, the good commentators are The warriors, the Lakers, the sonics, the suns and the mavs. The celtics commentators are the in worst.

I didn't say he was terrible. But to say he deserves consideration for MVP for stuff that happened only after they got Shaq is cosmically ignorant.

YOU might think so, but Laker fans were ing like crazy when the Warriors beat the Lakers in L.A. last week and claimed that their (Golden State) announcers were acting like the Warriors just won the championship.

I wouldn't doubt it, it's almost funny how the big market teams tend to have the least amount of homer announcers.

Agreed. They like their own players which is cool but no homerism there on calls and junk.

I don't know what to make of these Suns.

Not sure if I wanna see them in the playoffs.
It's going to be won by coaching, and not necessarily personnel.

I think it'll be tough but doable.
The Suns rebounding has improved a lot. So that kinda sucks.

So Kobe should not win it? He is a teammate and only pads his own stats.

I wouldn't doubt it was a big win for GS seeing as how they're fighting for a playoff spot.

However, PHX has the worst announcers in the league bar none.

I think Dan Majerle is the worst (though he wasn't calling the game tonight, thank god) in the entire league.

I'll also admit that Elliott is probably one of the top 5 worst homers in the league as well

    Thank you.

Amare played out of position for 4 years, and now he's finally playing his natural position and dominating every single defender. It's easy to pad your stats when no one can stop you.

Defensively, he's really not a huge liability anymore, unless he's facing guys like KG or Boozer, who at the same time can't guard Amare. He doesn't deserve to be MVP, or even in the Top 3, but he deserves consideration.

And yeah, the Suns/Amare hate on this board is equally as bad as the Ginobili hate on the Suns board, though no one here would ever admit it.

When does he stat pad? If anything, I think Kobe gets his teammates involved this year more than ever. I really think at this stage of his career Kobe could give a about his stats and is probably vying for a championship, seeing as how this is his first season in a long time that he has a shot to do that.
