It doesn't take much to get me excited.![]()
I'll take your word for it.
I'd have to hear the studio track for that.
Saw her back in the 80's @ Municipal Auditorium.
I hope she comes here again.
I've never seen her. I wouldn't mind checking her out.
She sounds so good live. Hard to believe it's been 10 yrs since her last CD., she had a baby girl during that time.
It'd be cool if her and Seal did a tour together. I'd definitely go to that.
I'm already tired of hearing about lindsay vonn.
She's hurt. Ok. We get that. Let's move on.
Who?
My mom came to my work with this pink box that has a pink bow on it and " I love you" written into the pattern of it.
I thought she had come to surprise me with an early Valentines Day present.
Nope. She is going out of town soon and had just used the box to bring me a bunch of leftover stuff she couldn't take with her and I guess thought I wanted:
AA batteries, an opened ( by her, I assume) generic brand nurtious kids bars that expires February 23rd, two oatmeal raisin slim fast bars ( although I hate all three- least these are good till July), a bottle- opener sized book lamp(?), a big pack of freshmint tic tacs ( unopened), and a big pak of Orbit gum ( also unopened), and, the best of all the items, a make up bag with $6.22 in change in it.
Happy Valentines Day to Me!![]()
Angel:
So does your mom have bad breath and is trying to loose weight??? Were you in the middle of the mall so you couldn't cause a scene??? At least you got $6.22 out of it!!!![]()
My mom has given me several nice gifts this visit. I am sure it never connected in her brain how a nice box would cause me to anticipate finding something nice inside.
Maybe my mom thinks I have bad breath since the mints and gum were unopened!![]()

Mother/daughter relationships can be a pain somethimes, I know. I've been guilty of being insensitive to my daughters, as my mother had been to me. And like wise with them to me. Ya just love em cuz ya love em, and remember you're the one who gets to pick out her nursing home!![]()
True.
I was already grumpy this morning so mom had unfortunate timing.
I was very untalkative, almost rude I am embarrased to say, when mom was at my booth.
Noting my silence, Mom asked me if I wanted her to leave. That stumped me because how do you answer that?
The truth is that I am extremely grumpy today, wish I didn't have to go to work, and want to accomplish only what work I absolutely have to with as little communication to anyone else as possible.
So the answer was " Yes, I do want you ( and everyone) to leave" but saying so feels so mean.
That is why I don't like making surprise visits on people- it puts them in an awkward position if they are not able/ desirious to see me.
I think if you would have told her you were grumpy, she would have understood and left. I can't stand being around my daughter when she's grumpy which thankfully isn't often. Now me, on the other hand wheeeeee doggie, LOOK OUT!!!!![]()
I should have.
A-ha, sounds like both of you could use this :http://search.barnesandnoble.com/You...ng+mothers+and
It's interesting and fun to read, but it won't offer any solutions to the mysteries. I can say it did inspire me to be a bit more patient and not read too much into our everyday interactions. Just page after page of "Hey I do/she says that all the time!"![]()
Naw.....I read "My Mother, Myself" back in the day, it just made me more depressed!!!Now, I'll be damned if I'm not catching myself saying the same to my kids, as she said to me!!!

Thanks for the book recommendation. I will look into it.![]()
I can't believe it's the 12th already and no bitter guy has started a thread about how Valentine's Day sucks because Hallmark has ruined women to expect great presents. Oh and how they don't believe in commercialized romance because they rather express their feelings in special ways year round!![]()
