Much better passing by Tim out of the double team. TP's man always comes at Duncan. They've made an adjustment by getting it to a 3 pt specialist on the swing pass. It's also nice to see them go in.

Did the Spurs beat the Hornets down or did the Hornets just mentally lose focus and stop executing in the 4th?

I didn't see enough from SAS to make me believe they are a better team than the Hornets. Chris Paul still got whatever he wanted, Chandler was a beast, West got his, and they were right in this game until basically the last 10 minutes of the 4th. They weren't playing with anywhere near the sense of urgency that the Spurs were. It was the 1st game on their opponents home floor, which is the hardest game to win. They will be much better prepared for the next game.

The Spurs still have to go into NOH and steal a game, with their shooting as poor as it is on the road I don't see that happening. You can call me a troll, but deep down you probably agree with me.

And we were still in it the last 8 minutes in game 1 NO's whats your point?

I don't disagree with a lot of that but you have to go one game at a time here. Timmy is going to get it going i feel more as this series goes on and If we get it from Manu and Tony and play Spurs D we can win this sucker.

I just look at the way NOH is scoring the ball and they are basically getting shots they are comfortable hitting. Shots they have hit all year long.

The Spurs are being forced to hit jumpshots, they aren't a jumpshooting team. They started pulling away when the Hornet's collapsed and they got easy layups and points in the paint. That is Spur's basketball right there. If the Hornets can keep the Spurs shooting jumpshots they will win this series.

Chandler.....rebounds, moving screens, over-the-backs, and the occasional alley-oop. Wow. He's good.

with tonight's adjustments (TP on CP3 and Bowen on Peja), I truly believe that the upcoming stats for Hornets players will be the same. CP3 & West going off but all the others doing nothing!

Only 15 assists by NO tonight while Tony had 11 (28 for the team), they won't beat us if only CP3 & West are involved!!

    Believe!

Once Chandler mans up on Tim without the benefit of double and triple teams *and* shuts him down then he can be called a "beast".

Actually a couple of us were saying that the Spurs need to shut down the role players and anyone not named Chris Paul or David West and see if those two can beat us.

I really could give a damn if Paul was going off, Tony was matching him shot for shot. And a couple of years ago we did the same thing to Phoenix. Amare averaged like 40 PPG against us but we shut down the rest of the Suns.

We didn't lose games 1 and 2 because Chris Paul went for 30 and 10, we lost because Peja was going off for 25 a game because Pop was wasting Bowen on Paul.

Paul had his lowest assist total of the series tonight, got four more points than his high so far (big whoop), but Peja was held to 8 points, and that's the difference in the ball game.

It's also why NO got those first two at home.

I'll agree with you there. We just have to make them pay though for leaving us wide ass open. But they have done a good job of closing out on shooters as well. The key for us is going to be go at Chandler like we did with Shaq and get him out of there in foul trouble.

One thing i will say... people are gonna look at the numbers and say oh Tim wasnt much of a factor this series... but the dude.... just with his prescence.. is single handedly shaping the way the entire series is going to play out... he is making the likes of Fin/Barry/Kurt/Bowen/Oberto all better just by having his two feet on the damn floor. Alright he hasnt had is greatest series even considering that... but when a guy can have that much of an impact really by just catching a ing basketall.... thats greatness.
This team goes as far as Duncan takes them. Parker and Manu were great and Duncan's line doesn't look like much...for Duncan. But like you said, just his prescence on the court and in the huddle makes all the difference in the world. He still isn't healthy, anyone could see that, but he makes a world of difference just being on the court.

Exactly! We can't let those bum ass guys like Peterson, and Peja beat us. They are only good when Paul feeds them the ball in a good spot. Other than that they are garbage.

    + 1
Like others have said (which I think sums it up nicely): Duncan puts in a position to win the game...
Our guards + shooters are there to finish it.

They played a TON of minutes this game. But they needed to play that many minutes.

The next game is on Sunday. So that gives them about 3 days of relaxation.

They desperately need to win the next game too.
