The play was designed that way. The Nuggets were expecting him to hold the ball at the top of the arc.

Yup...I agree 100%...when Pop went small there in the fourth, it really shifted the momentum to the Spurs...it was the perfect call.

What made it perfect is that he didn't stick with it for the entire fourth quarter.

The Nuggets spent the entire fourth quarter on their heels, and Carmelo's comments after the game reinforce that. They just suddenly looked up and they were losing.

Pop has been brilliant in this series. He waited until right before the inbounds play to insert Finley for Bowen, which made everyone key off him and not the guy who was standing on the other side of the court. Then, when Denver was expecting Parker to stand there and dribble the ball, looking at the shot clock, he went to the hole, forcing Camby to make a decision. Brilliant. As critical as I've been of Pop on this board, I refuse to believe that the above was anything other than carefully orchestrated.

It was a great game and I'm glad we pulled it out. All I can say is Robert Horry is clutch and I'm glad we have him on our team. Tony did an awesome job in the end. The only one I'm concerned with is Manu. He hasn't had a good game in a while and his shooting has been terrible (I cringe everytime he shoots it) and his decision making in clutch time has been somewhat bad too. He just doesn't seem to be the same. Oh well as long as Brent or Michael can show up I think we can be ok.
