Hack a Howard.
Baynes on Howard.
Not really.
If Belinelli has agreed to the room exception of $5.42M/ 2 years, Spurs could have $6M in cap space in the blink of an eye.
Hack a Howard.
Baynes on Howard.
If the Spurs have any cap, they should help them out by taking a young player like Jones. They really need to agree on a Lin deal to have the money, though.
Not to mention another million or so without much pain by trading De Colo.
I don't disagree, but try telling him that he's barely going to play against a bunch of teams, especially when it's conceivable that that could be their path through the playoffs. I really don't think he'd play much SF, because of his lack of shooting and particularly in the playoffs, when Leonard will play 38-40 mpg.
With Millsap though, he'd be the starting PF no matter the match-up. And Millsap is good enough in the post to do damage against the Heat. No way they could "hide" Battier or Miller on him.
Look, I get the case for Kirilenko and it's close, but I'd go with Millsap and sign some minimal big wing to fill out the roster.
Huh? Houston doesn't need much more room to offer the max from what I understand..
They're about $2 Million short right now. They'd have to release about three young players to make that happen.
Glad it's Houston.Him in GSW looked much scarier to me.
jack has learded loyalty is a biatch. he cried after the spurs series, swore his love for GS and now he's been renounced.

Dwight Howard reportedly unhappy in Houston
I don't. Nuggets finally did the smart thing and just let a player walk in Iggy. This way GS doesn't have his bird rights, can't S&T without ramifications for the next 3 years, GS doesn't have the full MLE, GS had to renounce Jack (who IMO was a much better fit to GS than Iggy is going to be). Why feed the compe ion.
Asik is going to make 15mil next year. I doubt the Hawks want that on their cap space. Might as well resign Smith if that is the case. I bet the Hawks sign and trade with the Mavs b/c they can use Marion as the Hawks need a starting SF, and his contract comes off the books next year. Hawks could ask for two second rounders next year as well as the Mavs have 3 next year.
Apologize, late to the party - and have no idea what's been goin on.
Are we suggesting West is an option, or is this simply a comparison to justify preferring Millsap to AK47?
TD21? Apologize, not able to go back and read all that's transpired.
As an aside, I think this seals the opening night match-ups: Nets at Heat and Rockets at Thunder.
That's right, James vs Garnett and Pierce in the season opener for the 37th straight year! But at least no Lakers for once.
Blackjack, West has already re-signed with the Pacers. We're discussing Millsap vs Kirilenko. I'd be pleased with either, but I'd lean towards Millsap, because he's be a more conventional fit, plus a good fit against the Heat, too. K-State Spur thinks otherwise.
sup Jack.
Just part of a AK47/Millsap convo.
West already agreed to new deal with Indy.
I am glad Houston signed him. Howard is a worse version of Terrell Owens. At least Owens gave it his all out there, just ran his mouth. Howard whines and cries like a baby all the time, even on the court.
Houston probably still have to give away a couple of more players. The only guy anyone would want is Patrick Beverly. So that leave Houston with Lin running the Point and no backup PG. Only can sign a backup for the league minimum. Gutting your team to sign a guy like Howard is laughable. I can see Lebron, even though I don't like the guy at all.
I think Millsap will get more than what the Spurs can spend, but that's probably already been discussed, right?
Which is quite the easy decision for them. It's not an issue.
Story up by Woj. It's done.

So what players are looking at getting waived by Houston if Dwight signs there via FA?
Sure, but they still have to actually get rid of those players (try for trades, pick which ones, etc.). It's possible they can trade some of their guaranteeds like White and Jones instead of just cutting their non-guaranteeds like Beverly and Anderson. If Dwight's already committed to them, they should do what they can to get the best deals.
Why they didn't have these trades lined up already is anyone's guess. But don't forget if the cap is slightly higher than we think it will be, they may not have to release anyone at all. It would be wise to wait until after the moratorium to get rid of any more players.
