Except that's not what I said at all. This is what I said, actual quotes:

Talk about putting words into somebody else's mouth.

I don't lose sleep thinking someone might come kill me in my home. But I'm not a children and my home isn't a school.

Dictator Trudeau sounds exactly like American Democrats. Their logic behind gun control will never stop. They will continue to push to get rid of all guns.

How much time have you spent in Canada?

How many guns do you have at work?

First it's a prison, then when I said no one considers a military base to be a prison you countered "they don't consider it a civilian building either"

Again, one lane or the other, is it a prison or not?
No, I said, in snarky tone, let's send them to federal prison. Then you said and I quote: "No one considers a military base to be a federal prison yet it has the same provisions I listed".

When I said we don't populate military bases with civilians, you countered with military bases that were transferred to civilians as some sort of comeback (that no longer have the provisions you listed, which I pointed out, and makes it moot), followed by you making up a claim about what bases look like, something I have no clue where you got it from.

There aren't two lanes here, this has never been about looks, this is about where you send your kids to school. You might be fine with sending them to full blown military bases, but I'm pretty certain you're in a minority, we don't have enough bases for that, and frankly, it's not a solution to the underlying problem (which is the shooters).

You ignored the caveat "if you think...."

You're dodging these questions instead of answering them.
I'm answering the questions straight up, you just don't like the answers, mostly because the question has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I don't live fearing for my life, and I don't own any guns (though I grew up around them). If life ends tomorrow, then I had a good life. It's really something I don't give a lot of thought to, because I know it's inevitable, and rather spend my time on something else.

I might/might not be representative of the population at large, I don't know, and it doesn't really matter, as we're discussing children in school, which has nothing to do with me or my home.

If you think someone might come into your child's school and kill them... legislation or security?

Again, you're being a politician on this, not answering anything straight forward.
I don't have children. But if I did, I sure as wouldn't want to take him to a military base for school. If those are the options, I'll take legislation 10 out of 10 times. But again, that's just me.

You're being snarky again. I didn't suggest you take your kids to a military base, however currently there are 161 public schools that operate on military installations across the United States.

You seem offended by any suggestion other than gun control. Just say so upfront and save us both the trouble, or simply ignore talk outside that realm.

Unlike the U.S. Cons ution, the Canadian Cons ution does not contain any protection for gun owners. Unlike the United States, where firearms are primarily regulated by the state, in Canada firearms are federally regulated. -some Google result

Not going to happen in the US.

"Well-regulated in the 18th century tended to be something like well-organized, well-armed,
well-disciplined," says Rakove. "It didn't mean 'regulation' in the sense that we use it now, in
that it's not about the regulatory state. There's been nuance there. It means the militia was
in an effective shape to fight."
In other words, it didn't mean the state was controlling the militia in a certain way, but rather
that the militia was prepared to do its duty.

tbh unless you can build a functioning semi automatic rifle out of nothing but scrap metal you probably arent qualified to opine on gun control policy

I disagree. As long as you know that a 22lr sticks in the lung and a 9mm blows the lung totally out of the body then you are totally qualified on gun control policy.

Of course you did. If we're bringing military-base security into schools, then we're effectively turning schools into military-bases. That's just not an integral solution to this problem, IMO.

You seem offended by any suggestion other than gun control. Just say so upfront and save us both the trouble, or simply ignore talk outside that realm.
It's the other way around. I have no problem with comprehensive proposals that include increased security (but don't turn schools into bootcamps), just as long as viable gun control is part of that discussion.

But if we're going to leave any kind of gun control out, then it's not comprehensive, and it's just another bandaid to kick the can forward until the next incident.

Look I'm not a huge fan of Trudeau, but common sense is common sense. At one point in my profession I had to carry a handgun and be trained to use it. Now, in order for me to attain the ability to carry, there's a ton of rules and regulation. Luckily for work they took care of that aspect. Now as a civilian, it was already very difficult to own a handgun, not impossible mind you. Still, I welcome these new rules. Get a shotgun if you need to protect your home.
