It's procedurally weird, but the judge could very well end up punting to another court -- she has already asked Trumplandia why they think their action belongs in her court. The filter team has essentially already done the work of a special master, the DOJ should have little problem establishing what belongs to the government and what doesn't.
Also, the DOJ will get an opportunity to rebut Trump's bull in court.
Hadn't thought of this, but it's totally plausible that Judge Cannon is bending over backwards for Trump to help keep her own hide whole. She saw what happened to the judge down the street.

Trump is an asshole but I just can't see him selling info on American agents.
None of that really matters; he stole the do ents and that's that.
I'm not arguing that. It was incredibly irresponsible and inexcusable.

This whole situation is Trump in a nuts ...he thinks he can do what he wants...he does a thing because he wants to even though he's been told he cant...then he tries to find a way to weasel his way out of it while still convincing his fan club he's a victim. Rinse, repeat.
