The endgame of this particular operation is, if possible, to declare the entire state of California in open rebellion against the Union and strip it of statehood. Unlikely, sure, but every action has an eye on blowing up a pillar of the left.
Each of us know, if we examine our hearts and minds, that if Trump called for a domestic expeditionary force to subdue and conquer California, killing or at least subduing the left/progressive part of the population, that more people would sign up to go that anyone ever has seen before, more than could possibly have been believed.
