It's much more likely that Lin is part of a Asik deal then another team coveting him enough alone to be part of a 3 team trade.
Yeah that's true. I guess it just depends on how much they like Asik. Houston would have to sweeten the pot more if I am Atlanta though. Picks or a young talent or something if I am taking on Lin. That's just MO.

Corey Joseph has been a model player for the organization and keeps working hard. He has yet to hit his ceiling or earn the label "sucks" with his limited playing time.
He does suck tho at this point. Tentative, pass up shots, Curry didn't miss when guarded by him, can't really create anything...

Houston would def throw in a pick or two in that scenario. I agree that Asik/Lin isn't enough for Smith without some sweeteners for the Hawks.

Spurs could def use a guard that can create shots from p&r. You can't rely on Manu against more athletic teams anymore and I don't trust Joseph to fill that role yet. TP can't do all the shot creation out of p&r by himself.

And yeah this improves the Rockets, but the Spurs shouldn't be scared. There's not a big on our team that doesn't give Howard fits.

James Harden will kill us like always, but the Spurs should survive him even if they get Smith.
Kawhi on Harden, Timmy (or Bonner or BAYNES, for that matter) on Dwight. Game, set, match. Harden may actually cry in Joey Crawford's arms when he's shutout in a game.

The fact that Jim Vogel chose George Hill over him says alot.
The chose DJ Augustin over him, tbh.

FA needs to stay out east! West is brutal as it is, no need to add Rondo and Smith.

Well thank you to Dwight for wrapping this up early. Now we should hear a lot more about other guys and hopefully get some answers on the Spurs plans.

Wonder if our next move is will be dictated by Howard going to H town.

They didn't react to Howard and Nash going to the Lakers. The Spurs do their own thing. The one time that they acted like other teams it blew up in their face.

Why would you want the Spurs to use their cap space on the Rockets low level players? If they can't take back money in the trade, Spurs would have to amnesty Bonner to make what you want work, no?

Also, Lin and Asik, with regards to a trade need 15M in salaries back or the appropriate cap space for that number, correct?
No, a team can always trade for players making minimum deals. They don't need cap space to acquire them.

And I don't quite understand the second question, but the teams only need to make the cap number, not the actual salary.

I was just confirming what I thought with Asik/Lin deals. You confirmed it.

Judging by his 8 kids with 6 different baby mom's.. I'd say he needs to also.

So how much are they counting this year. Their salaries are 17 mil a year prorated, Lin 3 yr 24mil, Asik 3 yr 27mil. So they are only getting paid 11 mil combined this year even though they are counting 17mil against Houstons cap this year.
The same. Their deals were flat cap-wise, per the Arenas Rule.

The Spurs don't need a backup PG tbh. I don't understand all this interest in garbage players like Collison when CoJo is a much better option.

They need a backup 3/smallball 4 and they're done with the offseason tbh.
They need both to BE HONEST, they need a backup PG and it showed in the finals. They do need a backup SF though, no doubt thats a huge need. SAY NO TO COLLISON! NO!
