Here's the stats for the first four games of the season. Pretty surprising start, but I refuse to get excited just yet..

    Passing -

PLAYER ATT COMP YDS COMP % YDS/ATT TD TD% INT INT% LONG SCK SACK/LOST RATING
    Tony Romo 118 82 936 69.5 7.9 7 5.9 4 3.4 68 8 61 98.7
Romo has progressively improved since his atrocious first game against SF. He is starting to move like himself again, and last week his ball had the zip and accuracy it's been missing. Those 4 picks hurt, but he's on pace for another 4K passing yards season, which is pretty impressive considering the increase in runs this year.

    Rushing -

PLAYER ATT YDS YDS/ATT LONG TD
    DeMarco Murray 99 534 5.4 44 5
    Joseph Randle 9 57 6.3 14 0
    Tony Romo 9 34 3.8 21 0
    Lance Dunbar 11 27 2.5 7 0
    Dwayne Harris 2 8 4 9 0
There are concerns that Murray may get burned out at this pace, so hopefully Randle gets a few more carries as the season continues. I like what I've seen from him, he's finding the holes and has shown some quickness I think only Dunbar can match. Which brings us to the offensive line..

    http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol

They are really starting to make some noise as arguably the best unit in football. Three first round picks invested with an average age of 24.8 years old, things are looking really good for the future of the Cowboys line. They do need to work on their pass protection, ranked 26th overall having allowed 8 sacks, but I think they will get better as the season goes on.

You got Tyron Smith pretty much locking down the blind side, and he's showing his dominance against some of the better ends. His technique against STL was perfect. His feet are moving well, his explosion at the point of attack is crazy. I'd like to know what he's benching at the moment.

Travis Frederick might be "slow", but his intelligence is already proving invaluable. He has made maybe 2 mistakes that I can recall w/ the Cowboys, one being the botched snap Sunday. He isn't the most naturally gifted athlete, but he is finding a way to block a second guy consistently..I was ing crunk during the STL game when DeMarco broke a big run up the left sideline, and you see big ass Travis Frederick running w/ a head of steam looking to block 30 yards down field..he ended up tripping Murray and we missed the TD, but gave me memories of Larry Allen tbh.

Zack Martin has fit in nicely at guard, and his athletecism on the right side has been the difference in the run game this year (other than calling run plays). Now you can actually get yardage on the right side of the field, which makes the cutback with DeMarco so deadly. Whenever the offensive breaks a decent run, I rewind it a few times to see what led to the run. From what I've seen, his fool Martin is mauling dudes, opening some ing nice holes for the backs. He routinely takes their lineman completely out of the play. Jason Witten helping seal the right side..game over. They are really making Doug Free look better than he is IMO.

    Receiving -

    Dwayne Harris 3 74 24.7 56 0
    Gavin Escobar 3 18 6 7 0

The Cowboys receiving corp is producing about what you would expect from a group w/ that many weapons. I really like the way this squad looks in the singleback formation with Dez and Williams out wide. Pick your ing poison..they both run the fade really well, make great adjustments back to the ball, and if Williams continues his recent play, both have the ability to catch nearly everything in 1 on 1 situations. They are better than last years squad with Williams running more efficient routes and making tough catches, plus the upgrade with Devin Street as the fifth receiver. He's gonna come up big out of nowhere in his 3rd year IMO. I can see a three headed monster on the horizon as the offensive line builds chemistry and the pass protection improves.

Overall, the defense is playing great. Considering the injuries, a lot of credit goes to Marinelli for getting these guys to produce. McClain and Durant have also been big thus far. The Cowboys aren't getting enough sacks, but they are pressuring the QB. Hopefully with Spencer's return we can get to the QB more. They are also giving up a ton of pass yards, but to have the worst to the 8th ranked defense in the league, even if it's only 4 games in, is huge.

I'm surprised at how large the gap is in carries between Murray and the rest of the RB's. I thought going into the season that it would be a little more equal. I thought we'd see a lot more Dunbar than we have. He was getting start treatment during preseason too, so it made it seem like he was going to be featured more. I wonder what changed.

Yeah, the drop in carries to Randle is crazy. I expected Dunbar to take on a bigger role this year, but Randle has looked good in the pre-season and when used this season. He must be killing Dunbar in practice because he pretty much replaced his role this season.

Dallas Cowboys safety C.J. Spillman is being investigated in connection with an alleged sexual assault at the team's hotel last month, according to Grapevine, Texas, police.
Police spokesperson Barry Bowling said a report was filed Sept. 20 and that the matter is still under investigation. Spillman hasn't been charged or arrested.

One of the things that Garrett has actually brought to this team is fight.

On that note, there's a rumor going around that during the Bye Week Garrett is going to receive a contract extension of 5 years. I would hope they'd put it off until later in the season, just in case they go 8-8 again or worse.. but oh well.

And he should have. The home games have been an embarrassment this year. Witten called them out too, and a defensive player (I think R. McClain) did after week one. It's sad when home games look like away games. Cowboys get more support and vocal fans at away games, tbh.

And he should have. The home games have been an embarrassment this year. Witten called them out too, and a defensive player (I think R. McClain) did after week one. It's sad when home games look like away games. Cowboys get more support and vocal fans at away games, tbh.
Jerry needs to stop being a got and price some better to get burned out locals back into the stadium. Dollar beer games FTW.

The Cowboys are on a four game winning streak, the first time since 2011. If they can somehow manage a win in SEA, that will be the first time since 2007 that they started the season 5-1.

"I really liked what I saw from J.J. Wilcox in regards to playing better with his eyes. There have been too many times this season when I didn't feel like he was really seeing the play develop, and it caused him to take a crazy angle to the ball or miss a tackle. He was a much better player in space today, and by playing that way it allowed him to finish more plays. It was a nice step in the right direction." - Bryan Broaddus

I've been critical of Wilcox, but I agree w/ Broaddus

Did you park at the stadium? Last year when I went to a game I just parked at a strip mall parking lot for $20.

I can't believe what a huge difference McClain makes on this defense. You can see it whenever he's out. On both of the Texan's TD drives he was out, and their run game really gashed the D a lot more when he was out. Hopefully this new groin injury won't keep him out of any games. We'll need him against Seattle.
