This was first recorded back in the early 30's by Appalachian great Clarence Ashley one of the founding fathers of that ...high lonesome sound. He is also the first the record the classic...House of the Rising Sun. Bob Dyan also covered this tune on his album...Self Portrait.

One of the first blues ladies (1930) to record playing a guitar and singing. Little is known about her, some think she was from Mississippi but no proof of that. She's one of those blues mysteries. She only recorded three records then back to, where ever she came from. This is a blues masterpiece.
