Sorry, but I didn't see anything about this game that made me feel any better about what we need for the playoffs.

Poor execution down the stretch. It's been the Spurs' bane since 2000.

The problem is Pop never learns. It's maddening to see a team with five players on the floor continually only use one of them at the end of close games.

I'd be suprised if Pop even draws more than one x on the markerboard at the end of games.

Ok. I finally calmed down. As Sean was saying, TP should have taken it to the hoop strong. If he gets fouled, I know it isn't a given that he will hit both. But I would rather go that route than shoot up a hailmary three to tie the game at he buzzer.

TP penetrates, possibly draws an 'and one.' If he doesn't, then foul right away and make them hit their throws. You have to lengthen the game. If you can force the tie at home, and send it to overtime, you never know if Barry can finally get off this freakin' shnide he's on.

Well, at least TD and Manu will have plenty of rest. Minny is not going to like us on Wednesday.

The problem is Tony had tunnel vision all night. There were guys repeatedly open when he forced the issue, including a possession where he tried to go one on five and got his shot thrown by KMart.

Tony's a great player and had a great game early tonight, but he had it set in his mind on that last play that he was gonna drain a three to send it to OT at the buzzer. Live and learn.

TP's no Reggie Miller. he must remember that.

    i agree with shoogarbear.

I didn't see anything too about this game that made me feel any better about what we need for the playoffs.

its been a typical spurs loss.

lead game .. blow it and choke in the 4th.

why the cant they keep the leads?!

well maybe partly because theres no duncan and manu.

but in past spurs loses. they were there.

    they lost the same way.

On the bright side about the playoffs, we'll probably have Tim, Manu, and Nazr out there with Tony and Bowen/Devin (defense/offense) at the end of games.

On the not-so-bright side of things, we'll still have Pop drawing up our end of game plays at the end of close games.

there is no way that the Spurs are winning a champoinship this year. Sorry but to win you have to have some things go your way in crunch time, the Spurs have had no such luck for the past 2 years. Also, their tendency to piss away leads and turn the ball over doesn't help either.

^ this is an example of why so many people in this forum go postal after a spurs loss. we loose one game and were now officially out of the race for the le. what a load of crap.

I didn't want to start another thread. Any word on why timmy did not play? Has his injury worsened? I thought he felt pretty good. Thanks.

No such luck? Not so fast. It's not even playoff time, yet.

Certainly, the Spurs have had their give-away games like Toronto, Houston, and Denver...but what about Cleveland & Timmy at the buzzer? Tony Parker's baseline play at the end of the Clipper game at home to pull out a 1-pt. victory when Tim was having an bad game.

The recent Bulls game is another example of a team making a desperate run at the end, yet the Spurs were able to regain the lead in the final minute by making key plays. There are going to be stinker games that get frittered away for no apparent reason other than poor execution and a loss of compe ive intensity...every season. Let's not get too carried away, though. okay?
