Why sign Gooden if you are not going to use him for 4-down when Tim is out? I am flabergasted.
lol I don't get it. When is Pop actually going to integrate him? Isn't a game like this the perfect time to get him some court time to get used to playing with everyone.

I REALLY do not understand what Pop is trying to do.

I said I would try not to comment tonight, but with like that it's hard not to.

Pop needs to just keep doing what he has expertise with, being a winning coach. If he needs to limit Gooden minutes or to sit Duncan, etc, then there may be reasons of which "fans" are not aware. 'Wanna be coaches and nba players' giving their "expert" opinions is just a tad humorous.

Outrebounding the wolves by 8, 28-20 just like we outrebounded OKC.

Of course, without Jefferson, we should outrebound them. And it's not like OKC had any great rebounders (Krstic and Collison) for bigs.

So, it's not some sort of sign or anything.

On the other hand, we've been the top defensive rebounding team this year.

So, it appears that the problem is not defense or defensive rebounding.

It's a sorry offense probably hindered by Duncan's injuries.

yeah good d, good rebounding, and since we're shooting as poorly as they are, our lead is from the free throw differential, which is nice. if you think about all this, then our deficiency right now is jump shooting and since we are a pretty good shooting team, this will get better, right? maybe i'm spinning it too much. because its quite ugly looking. but i feel good about the d and rebounding

What about last season when almost everyone on this message board that said in the Hornets series that we need to put Bruce Bowen on Peja to shut him down.

It took Pop almost three games to do that and we almost lost that series. Lots of people here at ST said that move needed to be made way before Pop did it.

Horray good D! Let's just hope a rested Duncan and a non-hobbled Ginobili cure all the offensive problems. And hopefully Bonner gets his sweet stroke back. Hoo boy.

Bonner has shown a lot less confidence in his shot since Gooden joined the team.
they have different roles and different skills. So, he shouldn't lose that much confidence. If we need a 6'10" 3 point shooter, it will be him and Gooden clearly isn't the player to do that. On the other hand, if we need a more mobile, athletic player, esp one who can score on the low post or create his own offense, then we will go with Gooden.

And it's not like Pop is suddenly going to stop playing Bonner.

I know that they both technically play as pf/c (It's strange to list Bonner as a center even though it happens so much), but they are very different players.

Bonner's go to keep that in mind and make the most of his opportunities. Play with confidence.

My point is that there are inside issues that fans are not savy to. I didn't say Pop was perfect. He did do what he needed to win that series tho. There's no way to know if Bruce on Peja three games earlier would have helped in the long run or not. Peja or their coach could have also made adjustments.
