@ Byron Scott. He's got the iest in the NBA running point for his team, along with David "I like touching men on the cheek" West. Any crap talking the Mavs throw at the Hornets is just stuff that the Hornets had coming to them.
And I'm not optimistic about Sunday either. They have failed in this situation all season long.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the locker room has already penciled in their last 2 home games as wins. No chance they win on Sunday. No chance at all. They think they have the 7 seed in the bag.
Our guys haven't penciled in anything! They will be ready to play on Sunday, it's just gonna come down to execution and making shots. I noticed in the 2nd quarter the pace of the game slowed down and the offense stagnated a little. It's more difficult on the road to get transition offense going which is why we morph into a 3-PT shooting team that cannot shoot hence our 18-22 road record.
I mean cmon, our guys know what's on the line here, they are gonna be ready, even if they do not win. Let's not act like we have a weak minded, lazy team, weak minded teams do not win les.
PS, enjoy your last few days here![]()
Why doesnt Scott about KG's chest pounding or the Cavs pre-game celebration among other stuff...like i said earlier, B. Scott
They better not think that but it wouldnt surprise me if another egg is laid on the road on a nationally televised noon game
J-Ho is already planning his upcoming b-day party, wonder if Carlisle approves![]()
This isn't a top 2-3 team in the NBA though, which the Cavs/Celtics/Lakers were.
This is the 15th best team in the NBA, the New Orleans Hornets.
I mean, I'm not saying we'll win, but I highly doubt we'll get embarrassed like those games. And just if we lose does not mean we did not show up! It just means we missed a few shots!
Dirk is always teh suk in noon games. He's still hungover at noon.
Mavs got their asses kicked at OKC, NJ and Milwaukee. The quit jobs have nothing to do with the caliber of the opponent. I mean it's real easy to look at a mediocre team like New Orleans and combine that with our recent stellar play and expect a W, but I'm not buying it at this point.
I'm never believing in this group of Mavericks ever again. I'll just expect losses and be pleasantly surprised by wins. But I'm done believing.
we love our boys in blue.
Were those really quit jobs?
It's well known the Mavs have perimeter defense, Carter/Harris torched us, Redd/Sessions torched us, and both teams were hot from behind arc (as we have trouble defending 3). Mavs shot poorly both games too. OKC was a little bizarre as they were without Durant, but Mavs DID fight back in the 4th and ended up having a FG drought at the end costing them.
Sometimes bad execution can be mixed up w/ bad effort. When you miss your shots, and have a bad perimeter defense against strong backcourts, and the other team has a hot shooting night, and you're not that good of a team to begin with, you may get blown out. It doesn't mean the guys didn't show up mentally, it just means we missed our shots and didn't defend well. The Nets arent 24 PTS better, Bucks aren't 34 PTS better, but I don't think the results of those games means we quit. It's just bad perimeter defense + bad shooting + hot shooting for opponent.
That's just how I look at it.![]()
I don't think anyone believes in the beloved Mavs. After all, we're just a 50 win team. 50 win teams do not get hot in the post season and fluke their way into a championship, and usually even the WCF for that matter. This isn't football where a 10-6 or 11-5 team may win a le here and there, or a 9-7 team like the Cards can fluke it's way into a Super bowl.
But alas, I just try to enjoy the games for the guys in blue.![]()
I'm not saying the Mavs should never lose a game by double digits, but at one point the Cavs outscored us 82-39. We went from +15 to -29 in like 34 minutes. That is no longer about shots going in, that is about not having enough professional pride.
son your tampon string is hanging out ...
True. Mavs also got outscored by 48 in a 32 minute span against the Bucks. It's actually stunning to think that that actually happened, after all we're not an atrocious team. I bet the Kings ALL year have not had a 32 minute stretch where they were outscored by nearly 50 points.
But I dunno, I just watch the games and it looks like a team trying but not executing, not a team not trying at all. Maybe I am just not observant.
Sons you forgot to remove your dental dam.
Feminine hygiene smack...how edgy and witty sons.
son tuck that back in. nasty bleeding
If the Hornets are mediocre, what does that make the Mavs? They lost twice to a mediocre team? That's pretty bad.
Makes us mediocre too.
BUT the Mavs have been much better the last 2 months than the Hornets. Much better. Hornets should be 46-33 right now.
Also the Mavs were not a team people were lauding as a championship contender in the off season. Vegas gave Hornets 3rd highest preseason odds of winning a le behind Lakers/Celtics.
That has absolutely nothing to do with how well the team actually plays. It doesn't matter if Vegas thought they were going to be 80-2.
