I think they are putting together a Mason-Bonner trade package right now.

I dunno if I'd swap out Mason.

I think right now you have a great shot if you add a couple bigs with

    Duncan
    Jefferson
    Mason
    Parker

I mean thats a pretty damn good 5 right there pending what bigman they get.

Then you have Ginobili and HIll off the bench!?

    Dayum.

Damn, Oberto's contract made a trade likely but I didn't think it'd be this huge.

Udoka needs to go now (assuming Bowen comes back).

I think to strengthen the front court, they'll probably have to give up Mason/Bonner, unless Finley is agreeing to be traded somewhere.

For a minimum salary, what about bringing back Oberto? He's pretty much done but with those four offensive players, having his passing on the roster would be nice. His lack of offense won't matter as much now, either.
I know he wasn't popular with some of the fans on here, but I would bring him back. I worry about his heart, but if he's cleared to play, and IF the Bucks release him, I'm all for bringing him back.

Who do you think will be on the roster Finley, Bowen, or Gist?

The Bucks expect to save $6.35 million next season after releasing Bowen (only $2 million guaranteed) and Oberto (only $1.9 million guaranteed), a source told ESPN.com.

From what I've been told and understand, if Finley picks up his option for this year, he won't have the trade veto power that he had last year.

Suddenly, Malik Hairston and Marcus Williams aren't that important ... especially if Bowen comes back and Mason stays on the roster. Do you keep one of those two players or do you stock up on bigs?

I might keep one but no way do you need both now.

    True.

Given the bigs available, makes you wonder who they are targeting.

Only problem I see, is if you trade Mason, then your getting thin at the backcourt position again, where as right now, its a position of GREAT strength.

Marcus Williams is a mistake that just needs to be accepted.

I think they'll bring Bowen back. I think they'll check around for more bigs before deciding about Oberto. I thought Oberto might retire.

I think Bowen comes back and Mason will be used in a trade. Probably packaged with Bonner and possibly Hill depending on who they're targeting.

So are the Spurs going to pick both Bowen and Oberto back up?
I'd bring back Bowen at least. Maybe Oberto too depending on what other offers he gets and roster spots. For a 12th man, Oberto for the minimum is a pretty damn good deal. You can't find another 12th man big who could come in and play right away in a pinch.

But the Spurs can't bring back Oberto as if he's part of the starting center solution . . .

Yeah..we're not gonna lose Bruce out of this deal..he'll be back. So it's basically Kurt and Fabricio for RJ, because they want to get rid of his contract. I'd say it's a no brainer. We're going to find bigs...
