If you asked T Park yesterday what he thought of Glenn Robinson, he probably would have said he's a "wife hitting, peanut head, liberal looser."

Now that he's a Spur, he probably is just a good guy whose wife set him up.

    Classic.

I find it odd that Whottt thinks dog fighting > domestic violence. If he hit his wife or girlfriend, he's lower s then a guy who makes his dog fight.
To tell you the truth I didn't know he was charged with assaulting his girlfriend...if you knew my opinion on wife beating Jason Kidd you'd know that I don't have a high opinion of spouse abusers...especially since in my line of work about 70% of my business is related to domestic violence.

I just googled it and if he did what he was accused of then he is truly s ...the fact that he got caught with a gun pretty much does put him on Qyentel Woods level.

At the same time...about half the domestic violence calls I get are from wives and girlfriends who want to get their man out of jail after they got him put there because the got pissed off during a fight...there's a lot of false domestic violence charges...woman gets pissed and makes the call and doesn't realize that once the police are called someone is going to jail...and that charges are going to be pressed whether she wants it or not.

Well the story on Glenn Robinson was pretty clear cut. He went to ex-girlfriends house, when she opened the door he started hitting her and yelling something like, "I'm ready to die and we're all going to die." Their child was present.

Then IMO, the guy is s , and Im not totally exstatic over the signing.

Id rather lose with good guys, than win with heads like Iverson, Qyentell.

    Color me dissapointed.

, maybe I wont be going to any spurs games this year.

That's alright. Glenn Robinson is a Spur now. At least he doesn't have a sandwhich shop like that peanut head Malik Rose. [/tpark]

[QUOTE=timvp]I'm not expecting any defense. I'm going to give him the Chuck Person treatment -- if he hits shots, I'm happy.

If every player hits their shots everone is HAPPY

I remember somebody brought up this possibility last fall and we all laughed him off the site.

Oh well, we've all been ing about the current team's lack of outside shooting. Manu and Parker are not outside shooters and get almost all their points on drives. Bowen is streaky and sometimes has the 'yips' and won't take the shot. Barry apparently hasn't convinced Pop that his recent streak of good shooting is permanent.

    So all HAIL, BIG DOG.

His basketball ability aside. It is sad to know that my season ticket money goes to a guy that did something like that to his girlfriend. very dissapointing.

I pretty much agree that if he did what he is accused of then he is s ...looks like Pop's quest to drag the franchise standards through the mud is still on going.

Let me make sure I got the way thiings are in Spursville:

    Money> le
le>Total s bags playing for this team.

I wonder what the laws are wherever this ocurred though...if they are like Texas Laws then it doesn't matter if the girlfriend actually wanted charges pressed or not, it dxoesn't matter if she is full of or not...it matters what transpired at the time of the call and how mad she might have been......the State prosecutes...and a lot of times it's easier, quicker, and less expensive(because of legal fees) to just plead guilty....

It happens all the time where I work....it happens most of the time where I work.

I am assuming you are in Law Enforcement? I ask because that is pretty interesting insight. It is a little scary knowing that in this type of call it is guilty until proven innocent.

Here's something that was written about it at the time ....

Milwaukee Bucks basketball player Glenn Robinson was arrested in July 2002 after assaulting his ex-fiancée, Jonta French. The couple has a child, who Robinson wanted to visit. Once French let Robinson into the house, he reportedly began to hit her. During Robinson’s bond hearing, prosecutors said he told French that he was “ready to die and we’re both going to die,” reports USA Today. Robinson was charged with domestic battery, assault and illegal possession of a firearm. He was freed on bond.
Then he was convicted on the domestic battery and assault charges and got one year probation.

Kori, perhaps when you get the opportunity to get up close and get to talk to him you can let us know what you think about him? That would be pretty cool insight.

I work for a defense attorney...I do bail bonds for him...nearly every call I get that isn't a DWI...is a girlfriend...or a boyfriend...who wants to get their spouse out of jail after they just got them put in jail and didn't realize the consequences.

There are exceptions...this one poor schmuck has a Russian Mail Order Bride who married him to come to America and now wants to get rid of him because she found someone with more money and better looking...

This has a standing restraining order on this stupid guy...yet she calls him for money or something...and when he comes over there if they argue she calls the cops and gets him put in jail...and this guy is the biggest wimp on the planet...

This woman is a total ...but he's also incredibly stupid for continuing to go around here...but she's hot and he is a desperate loser.

Sorry for the digression but people abuse the crap out of these laws all the time for personal vendettas...and my boss makes a fortune off of it...Even men make these fake calls sometimes and get their girl friends arrested...or sometimes the girl will call thinking the guy is gonna get arrested and she'll end up getting arrested....very few of them that I get are legtimate calls...usually it's one person trying to control the other in an argument.

And the reason I believe most of them are false is that my boss is usually hired by the person that got the other person put in jail. And that person usually doesn't want to press charges.

It sound ridiculous I know...but it is true, at least in my experience.

Why the hate, T Park? GRob is a loser but I don't think he'll be a big enough part of the team to give up season tickets over. He doesn't have great character but if his job is to knock down a few midrange jumpers once a week, it's no big deal. It's not like the Spurs signed Karl Malone or anything.

    P.S.

I knew there was some connection between Nazr Mohammed and Glenn Robinson that I had read about.

Wears No. 13 in honor of Wilt Chamberlain and former teammate Glenn Robinson...
So GRob must have had a pretty big impact on Nazr in Atlanta for him to honor him like that. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.

    P.P.S.

Why are the Spurs trying to reconstruct the 2002-03 Atlanta Hawks? At one point or another, the following players from that Hawks team have played for the Spurs:

    Dion Glover
    Nazr Mohammed
    Brandon Williams
    Amal McCaskill
    Mikki Moore
    Mike Wilks
    and now Glenn Robinson
