Back to the Future

I've seen it a hundred times but didn't come to this conclusion until watching it a couple months ago, when I was struck by just how perfect it is. The casting is perfect, the score is one of the best of all time, the story is deceptively complex for a mainstream movie if you think about it. Just an absolute masterpiece of cinema that manages to have wide appeal without being dumbed down in any way.

In the same vein, not the best movie of all time, but also a perfect movie imo, The Karate Kid.

I couldn't get into Menace II Society. Great soundtrack, but that movie always struck me as how white people would do a minstrel show hood movie with so many 1D caricatures. I liked Boyz N the Hood so much more where Dough felt like a real person, like that one kid you knew back in school who was a -up because his mom loved the son from another father more.

I need to revisit Boyz, haven't seen that in 25 years. Menace is fresher on my mind because I saw it for the first time within the last 5 years and have seen it a couple times since.
