Before you buy the I phone 4s, I suggest holding out and checking out the youtube clip on the iphone 5.
Holographic images and a laser projected keyboard.
I thought it was fake when I saw it.
Im tempted to just go get the 4S but I think I may go get the skyrocket and give android another shot. I know for a fact I wont like downgrade of screen real estate if I do go back to an iphone.

Strange, I've never had that happen. I know I have the Skyrocket, but its nearly the same phone. I don't get it. But yeah, its $50 more. I would take it back if I were you and just get the Skyrocket.
cant be real...
as I mentioned in a separate thread, I got my wife an iphone 4 and myself an xperia pro in the last couple days. having played around a bit with both, I would say-
-I immediately hated that the iphone forced me to install itunes on my pc to startup, and that itunes launched 5+ processes including 2 that automatically start in the background.
-the iphone has a really nice screen, great build quality, and a simple smoothness to it, cant take that away from it
-i understand the idea behind having only one button, but I find that browsing the web on my xperia pro is a lot easier. and, even if flash has a limited future right now there are a lot of sites the iphone cant handle that android can (I went to the same 3 sites on each phone and the iphone is littered with "download flash" banners.)
-battery wise i'm not seeing much difference, if anything the xperia pro is better because i'm using it a lot more intensively than she is her iphone
I guess I'll have to really get into the apps, roms, jailbreaking etc to have a more definitive point of view but right now it would be hard for me to justify spending multiples more on an iphone just for a great screen and a smoother UI (which can probably be tweaked on the android). The android phone has perks of its own, namely a qwerty. I think I would probably hate it otherwise![]()
If you are not techie-inclined, but still want the advantages that android has, then just buy from the Nexus line, you will always (hardware permitting) have the latest android software (kinda like viva was saying about apple phones).
In addition to that, you have the choice to (for whatever reason) purchase other phones with different hardware configurations.
It IS fake. Do you do any research before spouting ridiculous flights of fancy?
The iPhone 4S just came out, do you think they'd be releasing specs for the 5 already? Come on. Use some ing common sense.
Yeah, I saw that. I knew it was fake before I even researched it. And that video came out before the 4s was announced. I like my iPhone, but even I knew that was too much.
Doesn't that require to install a new ROM too?
That fake video was up even before the 4S went on sale...
Nah the Nexus line gets the new updates OTA pretty damn fast since its always just stock Android.
The main problem with Android implementation is the way the individual manufactures do it and the carriers. No one can argue that the walled garden of Apple isn't usually a better out of the box experience (or they can but its stupid) but I do think Android has the higher ceiling of the two. Getting to that ceiling requires more work, however. It also means buying the right phone which can be a problem if you want a phone when its released.
Also, not all android handsets are created equal where as all iphones of a generation are.
No the Nexus S and the Nexus One have each gotten all updates to android. The Nexus One is not getting Ice Cream Sandwich, however, due to the aforementioned hardware limitations. The Nexus S support continues.
Thanks, didn't know that.
Well, I got it.
TBC........
You got the Skyrocket?
How are you liking it so far?
no, I didn't do any research in this case.
sorry to anyone that purchased a fake Iphone 5 because of my post.
You're giving advice to someone to "hold off" on purchasing a product while knowing nothing about what you're speaking of.
Yep. Its cool so far. Just sucks transferring everything and getting the settings the same as my old one. There was probably an easier way to do it because the salesman gave me the impression that he was kinda talking out of his ass about this phone. Plus his phone was an iPhone. I just didn't care for $35 return fee. Kinda makes the 30 "trial" not a trial. Oh well. We'll see.
Ha. Right as I was typing this, that cursor bug happened. Oh well....
you sound perturbed.
did you hold off buying the iphone 4s for an extra 3+minutes to check out youtube because of my post?
sorry if that happened to you because of my bad joke
backpedaling.
not knowing what you talk about.
iPhone 5.
These are pretty cool...
I finally decided to give CyanogenMod 7 a try for my S2. While it seems to be pretty snappy and great on battery life, I'm experiencing much more FCs than I have in previous ROMs. In about a day of using it, I've already experienced probably a dozen FCs, while only expereincing maybe 1-2 in 3 weeks of using my other ROM. I'm not sure if this is due to the apps I restore with anium Backup, but it should be the case (even stock CM7 apps are crashing).
not knowing what I'm talking about
